Perks inGroundedare also known asMutations. Players can acquire Mutations by purchasing them from BURG.L or unlocking them by completingchallenges throughout the yard. The unlockable Mutations are sometimesupgraded through phases, and the player obtains full power of that specific Mutation after completing their final phase. At first, players will only havea couple of slots available for Mutations, however, the number can be increased to five withMilk Molars.

All purchased Mutations cost3,000 Raw Science, but unlocked Mutations only require the player to complete various challenges such as killing X number of creatures, discovering landmarks, killing a boss, or acquiring X number of a particular item. Although some of these challenges are grindy and time-consuming, players might be better served by unlocking phases through normal gameplay rather than purposely trying to unlock them one by one.
Purchased Mutations
Because these Mutations aren’t received naturally, they can’t be obtained via normal gameplay. Instead, players will need tovisit BURG.L and purchase them. To buy any of these Mutations, players will need todiscover the Oak Lab, which is where BURG.L will be throughout the entirety of the game. Unlike unlockable Mutations, these only haveone phaseto complete; theycan’t be upgraded. After players buy any of these Mutations, they’resimultaneously unlocked for all other playersthroughout the yard as well. Two of the purchased Mutations will also require players to findspecific BURG.L Chips- theAnthill BURG.L Chipand theHedge BURG.L Chip.

Unlocked Mutations
Unlocked Mutations are given to the player naturally.
