They reallydistinguish themselvesin combat through special attacks known as momentum abilities. As you unlock these special moves, you’ll find that each knight has their own unique ways of dealing with groups of enemies and even bosses. To use these abilities, you’ll need to gain an energy source known as momentum. Here’s how you may gain momentum and keep those punches flying.

Standard Attacks

Light and heavy attacks are going to be the bread and butter of building momentum. Getting off a combo chain comes with the reward of momentum. Heavy attacks are also worth more than light attacks. It’s a tradeoff. It’s a dance. You’ll most likely want to focus on light attacks to build fast momentum. Heavy attacks may generate more momentum per hit, but heavy hits also slow you down and make you more vulnerable to being attacked by nearby enemies. When you’re in the middle of a pack of goons, you’ll want to stay light on your feet because light and heavy attack chains aren’t the only way to gain momentum.

Advanced Abilities

If you’re in the Belfry tower during the day, you might notice a training dummy that will allow you to practice certain advanced techniques. Here you’re able to practice timed strikes, perfect evades, and attack chains. You’ll want to master all of these techniques to build momentum as quickly as possible. Evading an attack is wonderful, but a perfect evasion is where you build momentum for a powerful counterstrike. Likewise, timed strikes help you make the most out of every hit. It can take a bit of getting used to, but once you find a rhythm, the push and pull of combat are very rewarding in Gotham Knights. Definitely take the time to practice those tutorials in the Belfry tower.
