God Of War: Ragnarok’s expansive world is filled with wondrous landscapes, terrifying bosses, and hidden treasures. While many players may be searching for Legendary Chests to obtain lucrative items, keeping an eye out for the various Nornir Chests is encouraged to obtain two distinct upgrades for Kratos. In this guide, you will learn how to open theMuspelheim Nornir Chest located at Burning Cliffs.

Before you get started, you will first need toacquire theDraupnir Spearby completing the Forging Destiny Mission. Next, you will need toobtain theMuspelheim Seedin order to travel to Muspelheim via a Mystical Gateway. Lastly, you will need toobtain theSigil Arrows, which are unlocked during The Reckoning questline. Once done so, you are all set to traverse to Burning Cliffs in search of a Nornir Chest.
What Are Nornir Chests?
Nornir Chests are similar to Legendary Chests in the sense that they contain special loot. They can be identified by theirsignature blue runesstreaked across their front, as well as their golden characteristics. These chests are sealed by magic and can only beunlocked by solving a series of puzzles, most of which are unique to each Nornir Chest. Some consist of destroying a set of Rune Totems, while others may task you with turning mechanisms to match the corresponding runes displaced on the chest.
Upon completing these puzzles, you can open the Nornir Chest and obtain one of two rewards:
Locating The Burning Cliffs Nornir Chest
The Nornir Chest of Burning Cliffs is located along a linear path from theMystic Gateway. Follow this path,scale down a small drop-off, and instead of turning left,head right towards a cavethat contains aLegendary Chestin the center and one ofOdin’s many Ravensto the right.
On theleft-hand sideof this room, you will find anarrow gapthat you can squeeze through. Now, turn left andwalk along the wall behind the lavafall.
Continue down until you reach a small area sealed off by a boulder sporting aYellow Wind Fissure. This is where the Nornir Chest is located. To gain access to this area,throw your Draupnir Spearat theYellow Wind Fissureto destroy the boulder blocking the entrance.

Opening The Burning Cliffs Nornir Chest
The first Runic Brazier can be found to theright of the Nornir Chest, sitting atop a crevice in the wall of rock. This one can beignited by your Blades Of Chaos. The next two are fairly tricky, for they are too far for you to reach them. Instead, you will need to make use ofAtreus’s Sigil Arrows.
The remaining Runic Braziers are located beyond the pool of lava situated in front of the Nornir Chest. Exit out through the way you came and make a U-turn to the right. Here, you will see theC Runic Brazier at the far side of three stone pillars. Have Atreus fire threeSigil Arrowsat the C Runic Brazier to create an enlarged Hex Bubble. Now, have Atreus fire three more at the second pillar and finally three more at the pillar closest to you. You can now ignite the closest Sigil with yourBlades Of Chaosto trigger a chain reaction, exploding each Sigil and igniting the next Runic Brazier.
Head back to the Nornir Chest and face thefinal Runic Brazier, which is located on a smaller stone pillarto the right of the previous one. Start off byfiring three Sigil Arrowsat the pillarbetween the already-lit Brazier and the remaining one. Then, fire an additional two at the R Brazier and a final one at the now-lit C Runic Brazier. This will result in a chain reaction, exploding each Sigil along with igniting the final Brazier.
You can now open the Nornir Chest and claim your reward.
