While Sony has been relatively quiet when it comes to the status of its upcoming next-gen console, the PlayStation 5, the publisher is now preparing to go all-out later this week when it comes to one highly-anticipated PS4 title. For the first time in 2020, Sony is shceduled to hold a new State of Play live stream later this week on Thursday, May 14. Rather than focusing on a litany of games in the showcase as we’ve come to expect in the past, this edition of State of Play will instead hone-in entirely on Sucker Punch’sÂGhost of Tsushima. The presentation will take place on both YouTube and Twitch at 4:00pm EST/1:00pm PST on Thursday. As for what we’ll be seeing in this edition of State of Play, thePlayStation Blogsays that we’ll get “an extended look at new gameplay footage, including exploration, combat and more.” Additionally, the length of this showing forÂGhost of Tsushimais said to be coming in around 18 minutes in total.

Per usual, the blog post also made sure to mention that nothing regarding thePS5will be divulged over the course of this episode of State of Play. This is something we’ve grown accustomed to with these showings, but it’s worth mentioning all the same.

This will be the first new appearance forGhost of Tsushimawe’ve had since anew trailer for the game dropped earlier this year. Since that time, the title was then delayed out of its planned June launch window and is now slated to drop in July instead.

Personally speaking, I’m extremely excited that we’ll finally be getting a deeper look atÂGhost of Tsushimathis week. Sony has kept this game well under wraps over the past few years, so to finally get an extended look at the gameplay from this one is promising. Here’s hoping that what we see continues to deliver on everything that we’ve been shown before.

We’ll share the latest news onÂGhost of Tsushimawith you later this week once this State of Play episode airs.ÂGhost of Tsushimaitself is set to launch on July 17, exclusively on PS4.
