While the company almost always makes its fan base happy, one decision with this game has fans angry. In what could be the most shocking decision from the company in years, even the biggest fanboys are raging.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition launched on July 18th and is inspired by the company’s classic games. The game has over 150 challenges on 13 titles and players need to complete tasks to come on top.

Players can play both in online knockout-based Survival Mode and offline in Party Mode and can also compete with their friends. While players love some of the challenges, the majority of them are said to be underwhelming.
However, what’s more shocking is that the game doesn’t have leaderboards. The leaderboards showing the scores when players compete a game is missing and it has disappointed and infuriated fans. Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb called this“the most infuriating decision Nintendo has made for a game in years.”

It’s so frustrating because they have brains from a different universe. I don’t even get the point of the game anymore. For Nintendo, they think they made another fun party game that people will only see as a party game. My kids don’t want a party where they play old ass games!

In the replies to Grubb’s post, one fan couldn’t believe this and said,“This is how I’m finding out the game has no leaderboards. I thought the whole point of the game was to know who is the fastest to complete the levels…this sole option turns the game kinda pointless.”Another fan called this a usual fumble from the company.
