George R.R. Martin is arguably one of the most renowned literary figures of contemporary times. Yet, he is infamous for his extremely slow pace of writing. His sixth book in theA Song of Ice and Fireseries, The Winds of Winter, has been in the works for thirteen years.

The ridiculously long wait has made fans lose their minds, and they remind him how behind he is at every chance they get. They did it recently after the writer wished for a canceled Amazon Prime show to make a comeback.
Amazon Prime canceledMy Lady Jane
Amazon Prime canceled a couple of shows in August this year, one of them beingMy Lady Jane. Though the show did not have record-breaking viewership, it had a remarkable critics score. Which is why the show’s fans have signed a petition to bring it back.
George R.R. Martinis a fan of the show as well. He wrote on his blog,Not A Blog:

I have always loved alternate history and Jane Grey, England’s nine-days queen, has always fascinated me. Small wonder, then, that I really enjoyed My Lady Jane, a clever and original historical fantasy on Amazon Prime, set in an England full of witches and shapechangers, where Jane lasts more than nine days.
Witty and original, it reminded me a bit of THE GREAT, a show I loved. Alas, THE GREAT is gone, and it appears MY LADY JANE is too. Amazon did not renew it for a second season. The show has a lot of fans, though, and they have launched a petition to get Amazon to order more. (Got to love the fans). I wish them luck. Jane deserved more than nine days, or eight episodes.

However, this sweet plea and encouragement has infuriated his own fans, who have been desperately waiting forThe Winds of Winterfor over a decade.
Fans want George R.R. Martin to focus on finishingThe Winds of Winter
George R. R. Martin writingThe Winds of Winterfor over a decade has itself become a part of pop culture, being a running joke in a lot of different media. However, this has adversely affected his fanbase, who doubt if the author really wants to finish the book.
Some of the reactions from X are as follows:
Everyone: George, are you done writing The Winds of Winter?George R.R. Martin: I have the concept of a plan 😜pic.twitter.com/DWeeEU3dc4
Me defending George RR Martin for taking 13 years to finish the Winds of Winterpic.twitter.com/o6DqXzJ5Up

People should accept that he will never finish the series. He’ll die before that happens and publishers will just hire somoene else to finish the books. It will be George R.R. Martin’s The Winds of Winter written by Amanda Huginkis.
“And it even has The Winds of Winter! I thought George RR Martin didn’t even finish the damn thing!”#driveinmobpic.twitter.com/IAoc4rSpei

We could research away to bring Tolkien back to life so he can write seven more books and in that time Martin would still not be finished with the winds of winter. Hell i bet he hasn’t even started
The frustration among the fans grows, just as much asMartin’s anguish with HBOfor ruining his TV adaptations. As this threeway battle continues to rage on, only one party is truly at a loss here – the fans – who can neither get a new book to read nor a faithful adaptation to watch.
