Genshin ImpactPatch 3.0 finally introduced the long-awaited Dendro element to the game. The arrival of this element means a whole new set of reactions with the existing five elements, as well as several new Dendro characters to trigger them.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how you may use Dendro to grow your own teams and use the new Dendro characters to the best effect.
What Is The Dendro Element?
The Dendro element is linked to nature and growth. Dendro elemental effects in the open world allow plants and wild objects to be interacted with for exploration purposes. The Dendro Archon is the Lesser Lord Kusanali, also known as Nahida. Her nation is the new realm of Sumeru, home of our two new dedicated Dendro characters,Colleiand Tighnari.
Dendro Resonance
Just like other elements, the party gains a bonus if two characters from the party share the element. Dendro Resonance increases Elemental Mastery by 50, which increases the power of many Dendro reactions, and after triggering a Dendro reaction, it increases Elemental Mastery even further. Let’s take a look at what those reactions are.
Dendro Reactions
The real power of the new element is in its reactions with other elements. Dendro actually only reacts with three other elements: Electro, Hydro, and Pyro. Let’s start with Pyro, as that is the simplest.
Pyro Reaction: Burning
If Pyro and Dendro are applied to a target simultaneously, theBurningreaction occurs. This causes Area Effect Damage Over Time.
Now. things get slightly more complicated. When Dendro and Electro are first applied together, they will triggerQuicken. This reaction doesno damage.

If Electro is then applied to a Quicken Aura, it will triggerAggravate. This increases the base damage of theElectroattack that triggered it.
If Dendro is applied to a Quicken Aura, it will triggerSpread. This increases the base damage of theDendroattack that triggered it.

Hydro Reactions: Bloom, Burgeon, And Hyperbloom
Ok, now things are going to get really complicated.
When Hydro and Dendro are applied together, they triggerBloom, which causes aSeedto spawn. If no other elemental reactions are triggered after six seconds, or if more than five seeds exist on the battlefield, the seed will rupture, exploding and dealing Area Effect Dendro damage toenemies and play characters. As implied, repeatedly applying Hydro and Dendrocan trigger Bloom multiple timesto spawn multiple Seeds.
Now, if Pyro is applied to a Seed, this triggersBurgeon, which instantly deals Area Effect Dendro damage to enemies and player characters.

If Electro is applied to a Seed, this triggersHyperbloom, which causes a Dendro homing shot to target the closest enemy.
Other Elements
Although the other three elements: Anemo, Geo, and Cryo,do notreact with Dendro, they can interact with the other elements you have on your team or on the battlefield. Although that means you must be careful not to cause adverse reactions by applying these elements and accidentally absorbing those you plan to react with Dendro. It does mean you can safely trigger some reactions without affecting your Dendro application. For example, if you have Hydro and Cryo elements in your team, you can still Freeze enemies in place while allowing Hydro and Dendro to work together to trigger Bloom.

Best Characters And Teams For Dendro Reactions
All of these reactions sound great, so who is best able to use them? One of the elegant features of the new element is that it is very effective when used with several characters who have previously struggled to shine in the Genshin Meta. Most Dendro reactions are very effective when used by characters who can rapidly trigger reactions, such as Keqing, who has a very quick Electro application and can trigger many powerful Quicken and Aggravate reactions.
Another example isKuki Shinobi, who can do the same and has good Elemental Mastery scaling for the reaction damage. Kokomi is a great character to add Hydro application and trigger Bloom reactions.

Finally,Thoma, a character who many thought weak, can effectively supply Pyro elements from off-field to create Burning reactions.
There are many other examples, but here are some suggested team comps to get you started:

Double electro teams with a Dendro character can easily triggerAggravateandSpreadreactions for large damage. Keqing is the main on-field DPS in this team, with Fischl and Collei providing off-field Electro and on-field Dendro applications, respectively. Zhongli helps this team with his incredible shields, but this is really a flex slot where you could put another shielder or healer.
Bloom/Hyperbloom team: Kokomi, Collei, Raiden, Dendro Traveller
This team looks to createBloomandHyperbloomreactions. Kokomi is actually our main DPS. As she can apply Hydro so effectively, she can take the Dendro element that the duo of Collei and the Traveller apply to create a large number ofBloomseeds. Once Raiden’s elemental skill is activated, all of Kokomi’s attacks will triggerHyperbloomon these Seeds for huge homing damage on nearby enemies.
These are just examples, and in many cases, you can sub into other characters who effectively apply the same element.
