Playable characters are categorized in two ways inGenshin Impact. The first is by the element of their Vision, and the second is by the type of weapon they use. Bow characters have always been popular in Genshin due to their wonderful designs and ease of use. Their excellence spans both combat and utility, allowing you to hit flying targets and complete puzzles in the open world.

If you’re searching for the best characters worth seeking out, then look no further. This list will rank the ten best archers in the game, so you know everything you need to before using all your precious resources.

The first character on this list is someone known to be a bit niche. Faruzan debuted with Wanderer, and she was meant to be a dedicated support for Anemo DPS, which she does perfectly. Using her abilities, she can reduce enemies' resistance to Anemo damage and even grant a damage bonus to your Anemo units. If you haveXiaoor Wanderer, she’s pretty much a must-have for your team.

Unfortunately, her energy generation is abysmal, meaning she won’t always have her Elemental Burst ready when you need it. Since her burst is where you get her buffs from, that is a big problem. You’ll have to put in extra effort to make sure that doesn’t happen.

9Kujou Sara

The General of Inazuma’s army is a strong leader and skilled fighter, known canonically to have defeated many people during the Vision Hunt Decree. As a playable character,Kujou Sarais a support unit meant to help your team in small bursts. Her Elemental Skill and Burst give a six-second attack increase to anyone in its area of effect.

While its duration is short, this buff can be applied to anyone, making Sara one of the most universal supports in the game. However, characters with skills with long durations and characters that can’t snapshot buffs won’t really benefit from having Sara in the party.

If you need a reliable Dendro DPS, you can count on Sumeru’s best Forest Ranger to do the job. Tighnari specializes in single target damage, using his bow to shoot special arrows that split into smaller projectiles that seek enemies. Because his attacks hit so many times, he’s able to cause reactions more often, which usually means more damage.

Unfortunately, Tighnari is on the standard banner, meaning there won’t be a guaranteed way to get him unless you get lucky. He also isn’t great with a large crowd of enemies, so you’ll need another party member with AOE to make up for it. Nevertheless, he’s still a solid character who can be fun to play.

Support characters make or break your team, andDionais one of the best out there. The reason is that she provides a lot of team utility as a single unit. If you need a shield, she’s got. If you need healing, she’s got it. If you need energy, she’s got it. With her in your party, you have more freedom to choose who else to play.

That’s not to say she doesn’t have any weaknesses. Designed purely as a support, Diona’s damage is basically nonexistent, and your other characters will need to make up for it. Her healing is also quite slow, and the radius you need to be in to get healed is small. Luckily, she can prevent damage with her shield as well.

6Tartaglia

Tartaglia, also known as Childe, is a great character. As one of the Fatui Harbingers, he’s known to be incredibly strong and resourceful, which translates well in his gameplay. He has one of the strongest Elemental Bursts in the game, and he’s one of the best enablers for reaction-heavy teams since he’s a Hydro character. He’s so good, he could be higher on this list.

The reason he’s not higher: he’s not really a bow character. His Elemental Skill changes him into a melee character, meaning you’ll be up close and personal with the enemy. If you want to play an archer, he’s not the one for you. The skill’s cooldown can also be a problem since it changes depending on how long the skill is active. If you don’t manage it well, it could cap out at 36 seconds.

Hydro is possibly the strongest element in Genshin Impact. At the core of reactions like Vaporize, Freeze, and Bloom, you’ll have a hard time finding an element as widely used. The reason Yelan is so great is that she is able to apply Hydro even when she’s not active on the field likeXingqiu, allowing you to swap between party members freely and cause reactions.

Unlike Xingqiu, however, her Hydro application is not as consistent, which means you’ll probably be creating fewer reactions. She can also have energy problems if you don’t build her correctly, but that shouldn’t deter you. As far as off-field DPS go, she’s one of the better choices.

Tartaglia from A Winter Night’s Lazzo

Having a 4-star character so high on the list may be surprising for some, but if you’re actively using Fischl in game, you’ll understand why. Fischl is known for her grand imagination and her partner Oz, a raven made of electricity that automatically attacks nearby enemies.

He can cause reactions even without Fischl being on the field, and with her passive talent that calls a lightning bolt to fall every time an Electro reaction occurs, damage adds up very fast. Her only downside would be her lower stats and multipliers due to her rarity.

From her release, Ganyu was known to be one of the most powerful characters in the game. Being the first bow character to have a special charged attack, she took the stage with Frostflake Arrows capable of downing enemies in one shot. Being a Cryo unit also allows her to do 1.5 times the damage through Melt. The game is a breeze with her.

She’s only third on this list because the charged attack gameplay doesn’t resonate with some people. You are vulnerable during the charge time, and you almost always need a shield to not get staggered. However, if you may get past that, you’ll do incredible damage.

When it comes to archers, the Anemo Archon is not one to be outdone. Venti is the master of the winds and crowd control, lifting enemies off the ground and sucking them into a tornado where they can’t do anything. When it comes to clearing out mobs, Venti is the number one pick.

The problem is he’s too strong, so Hoyoverse had to create monsters that couldn’t be swept up so easily. There are now multiple enemy types that are just immune to crowd control effects because Venti would make them helpless otherwise. However, he’s still incredibly useful against everything else, so you just have to know who you’re fighting.

If you want to feel like an archer while playing the game, Yoimiya is the girl for you. As a firework technician, she’s comfortable launching projectiles at high speeds and blowing stuff up. Her main source of damage comes from infusing her normal attacks with Pyro, making them hit twice as hard. She also has a unique charged attack that causes flames to track enemies.

Mainly a single-target DPS, she excels in killing bosses but struggles a bit in crowds. However, when it comes to playing an archer, no other character is as satisfying to play than Yoimiya. Her bright design and fluid animations make the gameplay experience much more enjoyable.
