Gege Akutami’s hatred for one of their most important characters Gojo Satoru has been a topic of discussion for a long time. There have been multiple instances where Akutami has expressed their hate for the character. They even went to the lengths of calling him a mob character during the second season which was reported by@soukatsuon X(Formerly Twitter).

Gojo and Geto

Although Gege has never stated the reason for their enmity, it may stem from Gojo’s God Complex. In contrast to other characters, Gege unintentionally gave Gojo too much strength. Gojo’s inclusion in the story therefore prevented Gege from inventing any fresh, credible threats, which unintentionally caused them to develop a dislike for their creation.

However, this hatred has now reached a new level. Akutami might have taken another opportunity to express their hatred towards the character. This time they have also involved Gojo Satoru’s best friend Suguru Geto. Akutami might have created a scenario in the series where Gojo might not get a chance to reunite with his best friend even in the afterlife.

Gojo and Geto Could Not Reunite Even in the Afterlife

Given Suguru Geto’s battle against mankind and the number of people he killed, there’s a very good chance he ended up in hell. And looking at the present conditions of theJujutsu Kaisenseries it can be presumed that Gojo is finally dead and won’t make a return. However, he won’t go to hell like Geto.

This implies that Geto and Gojo will not be able to remain together even after death. Geto and Gojo’s friendship was one of the most important things for both the characters, even though they had taken different routes. When Geto died inJujutsu Kaisen 0, Gojo expressed that Geto was the only best friend he ever had.

Also, when Sukuna killed Gojo, the panel shifted to his imagination of the airport and the first person that meets him is Geto, which is also an indication of their deep friendship. However, If Geto never reaches paradise Gojo would be left all alone and it would be another incident whereAkutami’s hatred towards Gojowill be evident.

Gojo and Geto’s Friendship Had a Parallel With Greek Mythology

Gege Akutamihas a habit of including mythological references in their masterpiece. The biggest example is theHand signs that reference Buddhist mythologyIt is possible that they referenced the friendship between Achilles and Patroclus from Greek mythology to explain the friendship between Gojo and Geto.

According to Greek legend, Patroclus and Achilles were best friends. However, Patroclus was killed by Hector during the Trojan War. When Achilles was finally killed by Paris, the Athenians built a tombstone for both of them but Neoptolemus(son of Achilles) refused to write Patroclus’ name on the tombstone which stopped him from reaching the afterlife.

In Greek mythology, until the dead person’s name is not written on the tombstone, they cannot pass away to the afterlife, thus leaving Achilles all alone wandering and searching for his friend Patroclus until Thetis eventually writes Patroclus’s name on the tombstone. Similarly, when Gojo goes to the afterlife, his first instinct will be to search for his best friend Suguru Geto but he will never be able to find him because of the deeds done by Geto.
