It was announced atGamescomthat the 2025 Future Games Show will be presented by two of the most iconic voice actors in the gaming industry, as the performers behind Solid Snake and Lady Dimitrescu are fronting the event.
Inthe absence of E3, other companies have stepped up to try to become the replacement event. The Future Games Show is one of the biggest, with the 2025 show featuring over fifty games from publishers both big and small, including Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Nacon.
Ubisoft Has Cancelled Its Own 2025 Showcase Event
Ubisoft is breaking from tradition and will not be hosting a Ubisoft Forward event this summer.
The hosts for the 2025 event have been revealed byPC Gamer, and they’re well-known faces to the gaming public, but they’re even more well-known for their voices. The 2025 show will be broadcast on August 20 and is set to be presented by both David Hayter and Maggie Robertson, known for playing some of the biggest (in Robertson’s case, literally) characters in gaming history.
The Actors Behind Lady Dimitrescu & Solid Snake Are Coming To The Future Games Show
The two have appeared at numerous gaming events as hosts in the past, with Hayteroutright doing his Snake voice(well, without identifying the character) while presenting events. Robertson recently appeared during theResident Evil Requiemreveal, just before journalists had a chance to experience the game.
“Yes!” shouts an excitable Hayter. “I’ll be returning to the Future Games Show at Gamescom on August 20 with Maggie Robertson.” Meanwhile, “I’m thrilled to be joining David Hayter to co-host the Future Games Show at Gamescom on August 20!”
While many events try tobecome the next E3, most of them tend to be duds, acting as little more than showcases for the next pile of indie Steam games that are being pushed down the pipeline. Hopefully, with such big names on the front, the August 2025 Future Games Show will come packing exciting games, and not just faces.
