FromSoftware has confirmed thatElden Ring Nightreignwill add Duos Expeditions andDLC content in the future, allowing two people to play at once.
Elden Ring Nightreign is designed as athree-player co-op experience, with some of the bosses intended to be fought as a trio. Fans have complained about this choice since before launch, as aligning three people’s schedules can be a pain. This prompted calls for a two-player mode, which is significantly easier to organize.

Fans have already created anElden Ring Nightreign Duos mod, but it won’t be necessary forever. A new post on the Elden Ring Twitter/X has confirmed that the developers are working on a Duos Expedition mode for the game, though no release window was given.
Elden Ring Nightreign Is Receiving Tons Of Post-Launch Support
The Twitter/X post also confirmed that Elden Ring Nightreign is adding DLC content, as well as alternate battles against the Nightlord bosses. Theseenhanced boss fightsare coming later this month, but there’s no release date for the DLC as of yet.
It’s unclear what the DLC content will add, especially as Elden Ring Nightreign is open to adding content from other FromSoftware games, with the likely exception of the Sony-associated ones, likeBloodborneandDemon’s Souls. Chances are, it will include Shadow of the Erdtree content, as it’s all completed and ready to go.
It’s great to see the developers of Elden Ring Nightreign taking on this fan feedback, even with the recent patch making it a loteasier for solo playersto take on expeditions. Creating the Duos mode won’t be easy, as it means rebalancing a good chunk of the game to accommodate the lack of a third player, but FromSoftware is up to this task. And hey, if it’s too hard, no one will notice.
