The third enemy faction ofHelldivers 2,the Illuminate, was added earlier this month as a part of theOmens of Tyrannyupdate. This faction isn’t exactly new to the franchise as they were a part of the firstHelldiversgame. As perHelldivers 2‘s lore, a small part of Illuminate forces were able to survive the First Galactic War and now, they are back for their revenge.
The Illuminate enemies aren’t like the Terminids or Automatons, they are much stronger. So, it is important for players to understand the type of weapons and Stratagems that will be effective against them. With so many new enemies joining the game, players believe it’s time for Arrowhead Game Studios to add new, powerful weapons to the game to balance things out.
Helldivers 2community shared its unique ideas
The r/Helldivers subreddit is the perfect place for theHelldivers 2community to suggest what Arrowhead Game Studios could improve and also share new ideas that would make the game more exciting. In a viral post, a player put the spotlight on Arc-based weapons in the game. Players currently have weapons like ARC-12 Blitzer and ARC-3 Arc Thrower, but they want more.
Arrowhead Game Studios should certainly introduce many more Arc-based Stratagems like Arc Guard Dog, Arc Sentry, or a Mech with Arc cannon. Many players are still struggling to understand which Stratagems and weapons will help on the battlefield, so this is the best opportunity to introduce fresh weapons.

In a recent interview withIGN, game director Mikael Eriksson revealed that the entire Illuminate faction is yet to be revealed. The forces that are currently fighting the players are just the Illuminate Vanguard Fleet, so the worst is yet to come. Judging by the current scenario, it’s clear that many Helldivers are not prepared for stronger threats, so Arrowhead needs to add better weapons to balance the game.

To make things easier, Eriksson suggested that players should use anti-tank stratagems to take out all the Illuminate enemies with armor, allowing players to take them out easily. In case you struggle to take out Illuminate Voteless, try out the Guard Dog, as it is capable of taking out these enemies in a single shot.
