The release of Brie Larson’sThe Marvelshas pretty much confirmed that Marvel is planning for some (kind of) Young Avengers project.

Previously, rumors stated it to be a Disney+ series, but a new buzz says it is now being developed for the big screen. Though nothing’s official yet.
The rumors started when, right at the end of theCaptain Marvelsequel, Kamala Khan uses Nick Fiury’s S.W.O.R.D. tech iPad to track Hawkeye’s Kate Bishop. And then Kamala says that she’s going to make a team.

But it looks like fans seem to hate this team—the same amount of hatred that Zack Snyder’s Justice League received. Snyder’s superhero team did not get a lot of appreciation from the audience when he started introducing the members.

Marvel’s Young Avengers Team Endures Unexpected Criticism
It’s already known that in the future, a new generation of Earth’s mightiest heroes will come (some way around) to fill the void left by Captain America and Iron Man-led OG Avengers.
ButThe Marvelsset the stage for the young team. The future of the MCU looks bright with this team, but fans are seemingly hating them without any reason.

They are hating on the announcement made by The Hollywood Handle in an X post. A tweet by ComicAccuracy shows how the opinion about Young Avengers has completely shifted negatively for “0 reason.”
It’s so weird how the opinion about this team has completely shifted negatively over just the last year for literally 0 reason.https://t.co/S4whm1cFsL

It’s a similar level of criticism that Snyder’sJustice Leagueactors faced. When the cast was announced, criticism arose mainly due to preconceived notions. Detractors of theMan of Steeldoubted Henry Cavill’s abilities going forward as he wasn’t too popular when introduced. Even Victor Stone Cyborg drew criticism because of Ray Fisher’s rarity.
Then, there was skepticism about Affleck’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader inBvS, with fans comparing him to previous actors who had taken on the role. However, others like Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and Jason Momoa had asomewhat positive response from the audience. They, too, faced criticism, but in comparison to Cavill, Affleck, and Fisher, had fewer haters.
Even though Cavill, Affleck, and Fisher later gained public confidence, there’s no doubt they were initially hated a lot. Now, this time, the criticism has shifted from DC to Marvel, and Young Avengers have become a bait of it. Check out the negative comments made by the fans:

Young avengers and it’s one adult, a multiverse Loki, a dude who basically appeared in the background of like 2 episodes. And a fake kid. There’s like 2 people who would qualify for this team lmao

One reason why fans are hating on the Young Avengers team is because their storyline comes from nowhere. The exciting scene inThe Marvelsshows that Ms. Marvel’s new Avengers team will play a major role in the future of MCU. But there, Kamala never gives a good reason why she wants to make her own team of young superheroes.
In comics, Ms. Marvel joins the Avengers, and now that she has joinedThe Marvels, it doesn’t make any sense why she wants to kick start a completely different team.

As per the insider, Daniel Richtman, Marvel is indeed developing Young Avengers as a movie. Because going forward with the storyline, Kevin Feige would rather“showcase significant events in theatrical settings.”
It’s unclear how well Marvelites would receive a Young Avengers flick, as even established heroes are struggling at the box office. But let’s hope things take a good turn and the movie hits production.
Kamala mentioned Cassie Lang, aka Stature, inThe Marvelsscene, but who else will be on the team? It’s not known yet, but yes, theMs. MarvelactressIman Vellanirevealed in a recent interview withYahoo Entertainmentwhich characters she’d most like to prefer:
“People really love these Young Avengers, but I don’t even know if they actually read those comics—not that they’re bad. The chemistry between Kamala, Miles [Morales], and Sam [Alexander], it’s too good. I would love to see that trio in the MCU. Neither of those characters exist yet in live action, but I’m praying for it. Yeah. I love Sam Alexander. One of their first interactions that they had. Also when Sam tried to reveal his identity and Kamala was like, ‘Get away from me.’ I love it.”
Hope Vellani’s wish comes true. But only time will tell what the future holds for the upcoming Young Avengers team.
