According to some new leaks, the next iteration in theCall of Dutyseries is being calledCall of Duty WW2 Vanguardtentatively. The game is probably under development at the Sledgehammer Games studio and is set to arrive later this year.

ModernWarzone, a reliableCall of Dutyleaker shared the details above. He also went one step forward and shared some details about the storyline. According to him, the game includes cut-scenes from the post-WW2 era in the 1950s. So, it’s yet to be known whether the game will be set inside World War 2 or depict the events after the end of the war.

If the rumors above turn out to be true, another travel to WW2 with 9th-gen visuals could be incredible, but there are some expectations from Sledgehammer Games for their next discovery in theCall of Dutyseries.

A New Perspective from World War 2

The latestCall of Dutyiteration from Sledgehammer Games depicted an action-packed story of a US Army platoon going through some epic battles against the Nazi armies to save civilians and reclaim the occupied territories by German troops. Although the story was engaging enough to make you follow it till the end, Sledgehammer Games will need a different angle for its new title if it’s going to set in the same era.

World War 2 has had a lot of twisted stories, like the one depicted in Chris Nolan’s Dunkirk. A new perspective from the world’s biggest war ever is exactly what Sledgehammer needs to distinguish its next title from all the WW2-based games around the world. Even if finding a new scenario is difficult, the game could bring something new by putting players in the role of Axis troops rather than the Allies army, though it’s something completely against the roots of the franchise.

A Revamped Multiplayer System

The multiplayer section in theCall of Dutyseries has been more important than the campaign for the developers in recent years to a point thatCall of Duty Black Ops 4turned into the only game from the franchise that launched without a story-driven campaign.

Despite adding some large-scale battlegrounds to the multiplayer modes from 2019, the series is still known for its close-quarter combats. In a year that Battlefield 6 will probably set new standards for the large-scale multiplayer matches with maps for over 100 players, Sledgehammer Games will surely need to tweak the multiplayer section of the game with more varied modes.

A New Map for Warzone

Similar to last year’sCall of Duty Black Ops Cold Warthat brought in the Rebirth Island as a new map toWarzone, it’s expected to see another map coming to the game with this year’sCall of Duty WW2 Vanguard. Setting in the World War 2 era could give a quite different look to Warzone in the new map, and that’s the wild card Warzone holds to deliver varied experiences with the same core.

Ninth-gen Visuals

AlthoughCall of Duty Black Ops Cold Warlaunched on the new consoles as well as the old ones, it didn’t bring the expected leap in visuals and graphics to the new platforms. While it’s hard to believe thatCall of Duty WW2 Vanguardwould skip the last-gen consoles, I hope Activision accepts this sacrifice to deliver the most realisticCall of Dutyexperience ever with the upcoming entry.

Securing Call of Duty League

In the final weeks ofCall of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season One, Treyarch and Raven Software announced a new competitive mode for the game along with launching the Call of Duty League tournament, which will enter its second stage soon.

Having a stable esports tournament for games makes the online community stay active and forces developers to support the game continuously while focusing on the player feedback. Call of Duty League and a stable competitive mode are things that should always stay with the franchise and be included in each entry.

Now, it’s your turn to talk about your expectations ofCall of Duty WW2 Vanguardas the next probable entry from theCoDseries.
