One trope anyFire Emblemfan will easily recognize, is that of the early game Pegasus Knight. Though referred to as a Lance Flier, Chloe fromFire Emblem: Engagefits this motif perfectly. As she joins your party in Chapter 4, alongside Celine and Louis, she will have plenty of time to become a staple member of your squad and show off her impressive growth rates.

As you progress further into the game and acquire master seals, stronger weapons, and more Emblem Rings, you may wonder how best to utilize Chloe’s unique talents. Here are her best qualities, how to use them, and some alternate build options (possibly for a second play-through).
Growth Rates
Every character in Fire Emblem games receives various stat points upon level-up. These are determined by their inherent growth rates, as well as those of their class. This may sound complex to newcomers, but simply put, growth rates are the raw percentage chance each individual stat will increase upon leveling up.
Lance Flier
Resistance
Like many others in her archetype, Chloe’s stats feature amazing speed, good resistance, passable attack, and shaky defense. Her low build is also an important factor to remember. Her stat line allows her to consistently double enemies throughout the game, as long as she wields the right weapons. Due to her middling attack and inability to use powerful weapons effectively as a result of her low build, she often needs both attacks to effectively dispatch an enemy.

Best Classes
Chloe joins your party as a Lance Flier, and can eventually be promoted to a Griffin Knight. Theseclasses highlight her skillsquite well and, outside experimenting, there is not much necessity to change her class. If you want a change of pace however, she can function well as a Royal Knight (maintaining her use of spears and staves), or a magic-wielding class to take advantage of her high magic growth (ranking within the top 5 in the game).
Best Weapons
Chloe’s choice of weapon is greatly limited by her low build stat. Unlike characters like Diamant and Louis, she cannot simply equip a steel or silver weapon and head off to battle. The high weight of those weapons will heavily limit her ability to double her foes, therefore hurting her main strength. Because of this, Chloe will find the best results utilizing lighter weapons such as slim lance and javelin, later on swapping to iron lances and adding the magic damaging flame lance. Due to her reliance on low-weight weapons, Chloe makes great use of the weapon refining feature. This allows for stronger versions of her preferred weapons, without hindering her ability to double enemies.

Best Emblem Rings
Using her incredible mobility, Chloe focuses on taking out high-priority targets such as archers and mages. Therefore, she does not require an offensive Emblem to do her job effectively and works wonderswhen equipped with a ringthat provides utility. She absolutely adores access to Sigurd’s Canto ability, and the extra movement when engaged allows her to perform her usual duties with greater efficiency. Furthermore, his momentum skill allows for a much-needed damage boost, which can make up for Chloe’s sometimes-lacking attack. Outside of Sigurd, Chloe can also make great use of Micaiah’s improved healing. A unit with high mobility and AOE healing can be a saving grace when you are in a tough spot, and access to the Shine tome allows early use of Chloe’s oft-underutilized magic stat.
Best Skills
In addition to wielding the Emblems themselves, Fire Emblem: Engageallows units to inherit skillsfor use when equipped with a different ring. With enough investment, this allows for a unit to wield a powerful combination of skills from many different sources. Here are some powerful skills for Chloe, and where to get them.
