Who Is Vincent Valentine In Rebirth
Vincent Valentine is anex-Turk with great power that allows him to become a large creatureand hold his own against the entire party. While an exact timeline is not given, Vincent has been sleeping in the coffin under theShinra Mansionfor avery long time and stays there to protect the place from intruders.While no longer a Turk, Vincent was still a part of Shinra until helearned of Sephiroth from the party and decided to follow themto make up for a past he hasn’t elaborated on.
Is Vincent Playable In Rebirth
Despite joining the party at the end of Chapter 11,Vincent is not playable in Rebirth.He will journey alongside the party throughout the final events of the game,making appearances in cutscenes and being found around townwhile free-roaming. During battle or out in regions, Vincent won’t be seen and will stay behind in town.

Who Is Vincent Valentine In The Original Final Fantasy 7
In the original game, Vincent joins the party with the goal of atoning for his sins. About thirty years before the events of the main game,Vincent was a Turk assigned to watch over Hojo and his scientists at Nibelheim.Vincent would end up falling in love with one of the scientists,Lucerica, who instead dated Hojo and had a son with him; Sephiroth.
Hojo wanted to experiment on the then-pregnant Lucerica, which Vincent opposed. Hojo ended upshooting Vincent and fatally wounding him, experimenting on him to bring him back to life.While the initial experiment failed to revive Vincent, Hojo theninfused Vincent with Chaos, an entity of power and pure destruction.Then being infused with a powerful Materia to keep Chaos in check,Vincent is mostly revived, living in a state of near-death.After the experiments, Vincent hassuperhuman abilities, along with the power to control some levels of Chaosthat is within him.
Having opposed human experimentation, Vincent was now the product of it and hates his fate because of it. While he dying and being experimented on by Hojo,Lucerica and her baby were also experimented on with Jenova cells, creating Sephirothas he is. Vincent blamed himself for everything and put himself in the coffin to sleep in to atone for his sins.Upon meeting the party, Vincentdecides that Hojo needs to be the one to atone, and stopping Sephiroth will help him atonefor his portion of the blame.
During his time as aTurk,Vincent was amaster with firearms,which he continues to use alongside his enhanced abilities. Byreleasing more of Chaos within him, Vincent can transform into a beast but loses control of his mind for a short time.
