TheFateSeries Expands Once Sgain
Nowadays,Fate/stay nightand theFatefranchise as a whole is an inherent part of anime culture. You’ve definitely heard or seen references to Type-Moon’s magnum opus in other anime even if you’re unaware of it yourself. TheFateseries is even moremainstreamnow both in and outside Japan thanks toFate/Grand Order, one of the most popular mobile games of all time, which is nowadays rivaled by newer releases likeGenshin ImpactandUma Musume Prety Derby.
TheFateseries andFGOby itself also have many TV anime and movies, some of which are lauded as masterpieces likeFate/Zero, which is often recommended to newcomers as the first thing to watch. Though I personally believe it’s the worse thing its author Gen Urochubi ever wrote. I’d much more recommend entering the franchise with theFate/Unlimited Blade WorksTV series.
In any case, I wouldn’t be surprised if Studio Ufotable, which handles all Type-Moon anime nowadays, made a new anime for this newFatenovel series a few years from now on. When it comes to the gaming world, Type-Moon is also working on aremake ofFate/Extra,first released in 2010 on PSP. The remake project is helmed by Kazuya Nino, who worked on the original game andDragon Quest Builders.
