While wandering the Commonwealth ofFallout 4, you’ll often pick up radio signals. There’s a transmission you’re able to listen in on once you make your first trip in to Diamond City. It’s a distress signal from the human Rex Goodman and his new giant green friend.

Rex is held in the tower’s highest point, being prepared as a feast for the Super Mutants who captured him. Should you go after him, you’ll be in for a tough firefight with plenty of rewards, including a few new friends.

Climbing Trinity Tower

The simplest way to activate this quest is by checking your Pipboy when you are in or near Diamond City. You’ll eventually pick up a frequency called Trinity Tower Radio, and just by listening to it, you will activate the quest.A map marker will be placed on Trinity Tower, regardless of whether you’ve discovered it. Just run to the tower and start climbing up.

The way up won’t be that simple, as the tower is completely overrun by Super Mutants. Super Mutants are aFalloutstaple, and while their competency varies from game to game, their threat level never changes.

The Mutants in the Tower arebullet sponges, and it willtake multiple hitsfor you to kill them. Also, note that this quest can be tackled at the beginning of the game, butBethesdaallowing you to tackle it early doesn’t mean the Mutants will be that much weaker. While they’d level scale with you should you try the quest near or after beating the main storyline, for example, you’d likely have an easier time due to having access to stronger firepower.

When you tackle this quest,it’s recommended to bring multiple weapons with lots of ammo. While power armor or chems are a personal choice, bringing a companion is almost necessary, considering the threat that waits at the top of the Tower.

Defeating Fist

Fist is the leader of this group of Super Mutants. He’s ready for a fight, being even more of a bullet sponge than his goons, and he will always be at a higher level than you. Not only that, but he is equipped with a minigun. By the time you’ve fired a shot or two at him, he’s fired dozens into you. Especially for players doing this quest in the early game,Fist is a beast that can easily prevent you from saving Rex. This is where yourcompanionwill be most helpful, as theycan take some of the fire and do some extra damagefor you. However,Fist can and will easily defeat your companion and have them begging for you to heal them.

If you’re truly stuck and need a free spot to heal or recoup, reenter the elevator that brought you to this level, as it’s a loading zone that will teleport you and your companion away.Your companion will be instantly healed, and if you go right back up, Fist will remain as damaged as he was when you ran away. Fist is a terrifying opponent, but he will fall. When he does, don’t forget that his minigun can now be yours.

Descending The Tower With Rex And Strong

After grabbing the key from Fist’s corpse, you’re able to now open the cage. You’ll meet both Rex and the only friend he made at the tower. The mutant, the myth, the legend: Strong.Strong is a divisive companionamong the fans. He’s either a violent nut who only wants to kill and cannibalize, while others point out he openly likes helping settlers and the Minutemen, which proves the lessons of kindness did not fall on deaf ears. Regardless, you have to free him and Rex to continue the quest.

Before you go, don’t forget the Melee Bobblehead that’s also in the cage. There’s also a Macbeth Script right next to it, which is worthless, but a unique item nonetheless.

Head to the elevator that was stuck at the top this whole time.Check the first aid for stimpaks before you go.

You, Rex, Strong, and any companion you brought, will have to fight off more Super Mutants as you descend. The elevator will reach stopping points, forcing you to get off.The sections are timed-based, so you don’t have to kill every Super Mutant—you only have to survive the onslaught.

Fallout 4 Melee Bobblehead

Keep fighting on until you reach all the way back to the bottom floor. Rex will thank you personally, and so will Strong, stating he would like to travel with you to find the milk of human kindness. If you’re not interested, he’ll remain at Trinity Tower until you’ve changed your mind.

Quest Rewards

There’s quite a bit of loot to be gained from this quest, not counting a new companion. The first is an odd one, as it’s a binary option.Rex will give male Sole Survivors Reginald’s Suit, and Sole female survivors will get Agatha’s Dress. You can normally wear whatever you want in Fallout 4, regardless of sex, so it’s an interesting footnote in how this content will be locked for some.

Strong can only be equipped with Super Mutant armor, and there is plenty throughout all levels of Trinity Tower. This is luck and RNG, but typically you can find a piece at the very bottom and a piece at the very top.

Rex will mention he works for WRVR. Find and head there for the rest of the loot.

First is a Live & Love magazine on a coffee table.

Next is Anne Hargraves.Talk to her and then ask what she used to do, which will unlock the prompt to ask her if she’d like to work for you. This will unlock her as a settler, and she’s best used as a vendor.

Finally, the notice to WRVR. It’s useless, so pick it up.
