Developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Focus Entertainment have released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming shooter,Evil West, showing off the main protagonist Jesse Rentier in action against vampires, as well as combat mechanics and upgrade options that will be available in the game.
As seen in the trailer below, players will be able to combine all the tools at their disposal to create new weapons and equipment. They will unlock an ever-expanding arsenal of weapons, such as a revolver, rifle, Rentier Bombshick, and Rentier Gauntlet on their way to rebuild the Rentier Institue. Each weapon on the inventory also has its own skills tree, allowing players to customize and upgrade them to define their style. As they unlock new skills, players can unleash the full potential of their weapons.

According to the game’s developers, combat in Evil West requires players to combine melee and ranged attacks to create dazzling combos. Dodging, parrying, and blocking will be the core of the gameplay, offering strategic combat instead of a shoot-‘em-up style. As for weapons, the revolver is a proper choice to apply reliable damage at close-mid range, while players can also opt for a rifle to target enemy weak points.
The Rentier Boomstick, on the other hand, is a heavy shotgun that players can use to execute vampires with one hit to the body from close range. Whilst the Rentier Gauntlet enables players to create serial punch combos with lightning effects when it is supercharged.
The new gameplay snippet showcases what kind of areas players will explore throughout Wild West, including vast oil fields, infested mines, and mighty canyons. As the campaign progresses, players will encounter new characters that will help them on their way to becoming the ultimate vampire hunter. In addition to its dark-themed venues filled with creatures, Evil West tells a standalone story of the Rentier Institue, a mysterious organization dedicated itself to dismantling the vampiric dread in the West.
Evil West is now available to pre-order via Steam and the game’s official website.Following a slight delay, the upcoming action RPG will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on November 22nd.
