Bethesda took quite a few leaps when it came to developingStarfield, and not all of them have landed perfectly. Many fans are quite divided on the title, with some praising it for what it offers, while others lament the fact that it did not reach its full potential.
The divided fanbase comes together on one particular aspect: loading screens. They have long been the bane of gamers, and many expected advancing technology to make them a thing of the past. Sadly, they are present even in current-generation titles, and it’s causing some issues in the community.
Starfield Fans Criticize the Entry Procedure for One Particular Planet
Developers have started to mask loading screens behind in-game animations. Well, gamers are more cognizant of these masking attempts, and they have clocked that the planet of Cydonia inStarfieldhas one such screen, which is causing a fair bit of annoyance.
The game has not had the most positive launch.The game has been criticized for several bugs and glitchesthat can ruin the experience, as it is meant to be an immersive game. Add to that the random loading screens in the middle of the playthrough, and you’ve got some angry gamers to deal with.

This was brought up when Reddit user sladester66 asked the community what they thought of the planet as a location. While manyStarfieldplanets can be interesting, this one doesn’t seem all that intriguing initially. But one comment says they get the appeal after completing all the quests but are still annoyed about the airlock.
Another states that the planet holds the most impactful quest in the game, but they are still annoyed by the presence of a loading screen despite other fast-travel locations avoiding this step.
Some design choices have puzzled players, and they wonder if the studio has given thought to the layout of this location.
Cydonia is one of the better examples of locations in the world; it’s evident some effort was taken to handcraft the planet rather than let it be procedurally generated.
Shattered Space to Feature Similar Attention to Detail
The community is after an experience that feels uniquely crafted. Todd Howard seems to be aware of this, as he has revealed theupcoming DLC,Shattered Space, will feature entirely handcrafted locationsfor players to explore. While the expansion will take place on one single planet, we can expect a great deal of detail for this planet.

Along with the revelation of the DLC content, we also now know of a second expansion in the works. This new DLC won’t be coming anytime soon, but it’s good to see the game has a healthy roadmap ahead of it.
The studio needs to take player feedback online and try its best to fix the many issues and glitches in the game. A game can’t be considered immersive if the player is taken out of the experience with every location change.
