CD Projekt Red’sWitcherseries has a massive fanbase all over the world and fans have been eagerly waiting for some information aboutWitcher 4. Finally, the studio has confirmed that it has made some progress with the next installment in the belovedWitcherfranchise.

In an official blog post, the developer revealed that it is not only working on Project Polaris (Witcher 4) but also Project Orion (Cyberpunk 2077sequel). It has been confirmed that the pre-production phase ofWitchersequelhas ended and is all set to enter the full production phase.

The developer has revealed on itsofficial websitethat the development team of Project Polaris (Witcher4) will soon hit a major milestone that will mark the end of the pre-production phase of the project.

Now, the company is gearing up for the full-fledged production phase of Project Polaris, which will be the first installment in the newWitchersaga. Pawel Sasko, Associate Game Director at CDPR, has explained in the past that the next game in the series is “the most advanced of all of those.“
With support from independent studio, The Molasses Flood, the developer has hired roughly 400 employees to work on the sequel. The studio hasn’t announced a release date as of now, but with the production in full swing, fans can expect to receive an announcement soon.

It was also revealed in the post that Michał Nowakowski, Joint CEO of CD Projekt, has confirmed that CDPR’s Boston studio is working hard on Project Orion, which is a new game set in theCyberpunkuniverse.

In the recent financialreport, CDPR’s Nowakowski explained that gamers shouldn’t expectWitcher 4to be aWitcher 3in a new avatar as the game is nothing like its predecessors. He said,
You should not be expecting ‘The Witcher 3 in new clothing’ of sorts; of course, we’re building on the shoulders of what came before, and on what we’ve learned, but we will be adding new gameplay elements and new mechanics that you have not seen in our previous games.

The studio has madesome errors in the pastso it seems like they are spending a lot of time working on the game before it is ready for a final release. The thirdWitchergame,The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, also took three and a half years to develop.
