If you find yourself confused in the massive world of Enshrouded, then you might have not tried anything or explored the world deeply enough. There is a lot to discover in this brand-new survival experience, and there is even more to build and craft using a wide variety of materials.
Enshrouded: Where To Find Metal Scraps
Metal Scrap is an essential material for most weapons and armor pieces in Enshrouded, but it is difficult to find a large amount of it early.
Now that you are looking to collect some Dirt, it means you have made enough progress in the game to know how things work. Dirt is one of the crucial materials that will keep your advanced structures working and will help you craft better armor and gear, indirectly.

How To Get Dirt
Dirt can be earned bydigging the ground using a Pickaxe. Unlike most survival games where you may literally to any kind of basic resource collection with a single pickaxe, Enshrouded has limited the use case of this specific tool for only one thing: digging!
If you haven’t already crafted one, go ahead and collect a bunch of Stones and Twigs, craft a String, and then craft your very own pickaxe. The basic pickaxe can be crafted from your personal craft menu, but for advanced versions, you need to have a Workbench.

Now, the first hit of your pickaxe on the ground will add a significant amount of dirt to your inventory. Keep in mind that only the first hit will give you Dirt. If you want to gain more, simply dig somewhere else rather than hitting the same spot on the ground.
If you have already summoned the Blacksmith guy, and you have built a Charcoal Kiln, then you can combine Dirt with Wood Logs inside the Kiln to craft Charcoal. Later in the game, you will find more use cases for the Dirt.

Enshrouded: How To Craft String
String is a crucial material in Enshrouded, and while it can be found in the world, there are easier ways to get it.
