Many players, over a discussion on Reddit, unanimously agreed that the most difficult part for them was encountering the first-horned warrior that you come across in the game.
One user talked about the amount of time it took for them to beat the horned warrior in their first run and how difficult it was.
Players had a difficult time getting through the horned warriors, especially the first one, and it was considered even more difficult than some of the bosses in the game.

Horned warriors were a special addition toShadow of the Erdtreeand are considered the most relentless sword-bearing beasts in the game. They can swing their swords endlessly, giving you no chance to retaliate. They can also withstand heavy blows that might send other enemies flying in the sky.
There are two types of horned warriors, one with dual-wielding Curved Swords and the other with a one-hand Curved Greatsword. They are vulnerable to poison and can be rotted, making it easier for ranged characters to beat them.

For most players, though, it was a task to get through this never-before-seen enemy that was absolutely relentless and inhumanly stronger than they were prepared for.
