Eiichiro Oda has created a vast world inOne Piece, and the amount of characters present in it is no joke. Every arc brings with it a new catalog of characters, and some of them look too similar to pop culture icons to ignore.

One character from the series looks so similar to Donald Trump that the resemblance just cannot be ignored. In fact, even One Piece’s animation studio, Toei, is involved with the plotting.

One Pieceintroduced Samosa in the Levely Arc, a character who looks extremely similar toDonald J. Trump.Samosa has an average height with curly blond hair. He has a long face with sunken cheeks and thick lips and almost looks like a caricature version of Trump. He also wears a black suit, with a white shirt and purple tie, that makes him look extremely similar to any presidential candidate.
The character is the king of a nation that is affiliated with the World Government inOne Piece.While Samosa does not have a noticeable role in the manga, his role is expanded in the anime by adding dialogue. He is the one who expressed that deploying the Marines to Wano would be a costly affair.

WhetherEiichiro Odaintentionally created the character to resemblethe United States’ 45th presidentis unknown. But the resemblance is too uncanny to be ignored. In fact, even his voice and mannerisms in the anime are similar to Trump’s. This means Toei went the extra mile to make the similarity work.

Eiichiro Oda has been inspired by real-life pirates to create many characters inOne Piece.But the author hasn’t just stopped there. Several other characters in the series also have extremely similar appearances to pop culture icons and celebrities.

Franky, for example, looks very similar to Jim Carry’s Ace Venture character. Franky’s weird hairstyle, pointy face shape, and iconic glasses have a striking resemblance to Ace Ventura. Peeply Lulu, one of the workers in the Galley-La Company in the Water 7 arc, looks very similar to Freddie Mercury, the popular British singer who achieved fame as the vocalist of the rock band Queen.
As far as similarities in appearances go,God Enel, the tyrannical antagonistfrom the Skypiea arc, looks very much like Eminem, the popular rapper. Jean Rochefort in theLost in La Manchadocumentary looks like Gun Fall, another character from the same arc. Many more such examples lying around inOne Piecethat just need close observation to be discovered.
