How To Pass Time
If you’re waiting around for someone, or you’re waiting to go into the wild at a particular time of day, you may need to pass some time. You can do this a few different ways.When you’re in a town or city, you’ll find benches where you can sit. If you sit down and doze off, you’ll wake up at the next notch of time.So, if you fall asleep in the morning, you’ll wake up in the middle of the day. If it’s night, you’ll wake up in the morning.
Passing time outside of sleeping at an inn or camp will not restore your HP.
You can pass time (usually overnight) by going to an inn and paying for a room.While this does cost a bit of gold, your rest will also restore the health of your party. It’s a good way to recover from your adventures and get ready for the next day.Likewise, you can choose to make camp while out in the wild.Making camp comes with some risks, like being ambushed overnight. You’ll also need a camping kit. Cheap ones typically cost less than staying overnight in an inn, but again, you are taking a bit of a risk any time you spend a night in the woods.
Keep in mind that time passes as you run around and complete activities. You do not have to actively pass time to move the clock forward. So, try not to idle in town when a time-sensitive quest is on the line.

When it comes to the passage of time, quests are likely to suffer the worst consequences.If you pick up a quest to save someone who is in danger, they may not last a day or a night. So, if a quest sounds urgent, it’s best to treat it that way.
The food in your pack is impacted by the passage of time like everything else.An apple could become ripened, which means it will give you more benefits for eating it.However, if left for too long, it will become rotten. Eating rotten food will definitely come with some unwanted side effects.
Characters in Dragon’s Dogma 2 have their own lives going on, so they aren’t likely to sit around all day waiting for you to come along and ask them a question.NPCs with quests or useful items might move around, in which case you’ll either need to go find them or wait around for them to come back to where you last saw them.It’s a great detail, though it can lead to some confusion when looking for a specific NPC.
