Today is the day thatDragon’s Dogma 2, the long-awaited fantasy RPG sequel by Capcom, is finally here, making it the studio’s biggest-ever single-player game to launch on Steam. Cited by early reviews as one of the best gamesin recent historyand even worthy of GOTY, it seems that some gamers themselves don’t particularly feel the same way due to theimplementationof microtransactions and being plagued by framerate issues.
Putting that pretty crappy news to the side and for those who just want to jump in and have some fun, the game’s pawns are much more than they seem and are even saving player’s lives when they get into a spot of bother.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Review: Cryptic & Unforgettable
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an open-world Fantasy adventure you’re able to’t afford to miss.
It goes without saying that in most RPGs like Dragon’s Dogma 2, players can come up against many challenges and find themselves in sticky situations where accidents happen, and inevitable deaths are certain, like falling off a cliff or trying to jump over obstacles. It’s a giant pain in the ass to have to start from your last save, but what happens when you don’t need to because your companion has your back?

Over on X, userXxiKGixXshowcases just how reliable companions are, known as pawns in the game, when you can’t look after yourself. In a short 17-second clip, KG can be seen at the top of a tower and then heading down the ladder to the ground, Unfortunately, on their usually rather simple journey, they ended up falling off of the ladder, but before they could hit the ground in frustration and had to reload another save, one of their pawns swooped in and caught them in the nick of time. What makes it even funnier is that the clip has the backing song of Nickelback’s Hero, making the end of the video a proper tribute to this courageous, and strong, pawn!
One of the comments under the video clip hilariously stated: “Maybe the Pawn is the main character, and you are a Side Quest. Mission: Save helpless peasant from falling to their death.”. It does seem, however, that this wasn’t a one-time thing or some very weird glitch, as another user replied “I freaked out when my pawn caught me after I got knocked off a cyclops, I thought I was dead.” So it seems the real heroes in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are, in fact, the companions all this time.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Just Solidified Helldivers 2 As My Game Of The Year
What was supposed to be one of the biggest releases of the year has quickly turned into a massive disappointment.
