Don’t expect Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 to keep your secrets.
Materials are the main bottleneck here, as finding a specific item from the sea of monsters in DD2 can be impossible if you don’t know where to look. Astracite is an enhancement material that’s easier to find than it might appear.

Where To Find Astracite
Astracite can be obtained by killing Phantasms in DD2. Phantasms are blue or grey, ethereal, ghost-like entities that only appear at night. And, likeSlimes,can only be damaged using Elemental attacks. Lightning, Fire, and Frost damage all work to bring down Phantasms.
Blue Phantasms drop Astracite and grey Phantasms drop Miasmite.
Their only gimmick is that they canphase in and out of existenceandposses you or your pawns. This sounds scarier than it is. Possession can be easily countered by attacking the character once or twice.Rely on yourPawnsto identify where a Phantasm is hiding and take them down quickly.
Once they’re dead, there is a chance they’ll drop aglowing white piece of oreon the ground. This isAstracite.
Astracite is an uncommon drop. It does not have a 100% drop rate.
Phantasm Spawn Location
Phantasms spawn anywhere where there is night.I’ve found them in multiple areas in Vermund, in forests, on roads, and in caves. As long as it’s dark out, the Phantasms will come out.
I had the most success farming Phantasms in theMisty Forest, in eastern Vermund (marked on the map). While Phantasms spawn frequently here, it’s not worth the long trek from Vernworth orCheckpoint Rest Townif you’re only looking for Astracite.Enhancing equipment typically only requires 2-4 pieces of Astracite, which can easily be obtained by just waiting for night wherever you are.
