So when players first step into the Borderwatch Outpost, they’ll want to know everything there is to collect in this place and how best to approach their first taste of civilization. I’ve combed through everything possible you’re able to do at this location, so you don’t have to.
Here’s the breakdown.

Dragon’s Dogma 2
The Borderwatch Outpost is the first location where you’ll be able to summon your own Pawn andhire new Pawnsmade by other players - oreven your friends- using theRiftstone. The cutscene wil guide you to the Riftstone’s location.

All Chests
There are three chests in this location:
In the watchroom directly above the Outpost’s exit. You’ll need to jump into the room from a nearby ledge to get inside.
In the training area, at the far end of the training circle where the two soldiers are fighting
Directly below the watchtower, behind the ladder leading up. If you see it’s already opened, your pawns opened it when you weren’t looking.
If a pawn mentions they’ve seen a chest nearby, a chest icon will show up on the minimap to show what they’re talking about.
All Vendors
There are three vendors, each with different products on sale.
Standing beside the smithy near the exit towards Melve.Sells equipment.
Montgomery
Just outside the inn, he’s the man with the travel pack. Sells basic items and consumables.
The innkeeper. Talk to him to advance the main quest,change vocations, and buy basic supplies.
A few items can be looted in the Outpost outside of chests. The most valuable ones are the 5 Copper Ores that can be found in the boxes in the smithy.
All Quests
There are three quests in the Borderwatch Outpost.
Ordeals of a New Recruit
Triggers when you go to exit the Outpost. Follow the quest marker and save Accardo from the Harpies. Travel to the quest marker to find him battle harpies.
This is a timed quest, and Accardo will die if you don’thelp him in time.
The Provisioner’s Plight
Talk to Geoffrey in the middle of the camp after you’ve saved Accardo. He’ll point you towards Markus, who will ask you togather the following materials.
Return and report to Geoffery to complete the quest.
In Dragon’s Wake (Main Quest)
Rest at the inn.
There are a few overworld items that can be collected in this area.
In the tent directly to the left of the Outposts’ entrance.

5 Copper Ore
At the Blacksmith’s shop (Kassandra)
Lantern Oil
On the wooden basket just outside the inn.
