Dragon Ball DAIMAis going in a direction that is seriously concerning to me. Episode 15 was both good and bad, having moments that stood out and those that shouldn’t have. Assuming there are only five episodes remaining, a childish villain is doing little to pose any kind of threat to the central characters. There are no stakes involved that we know of either.

For much of the episode, my only thought was that if they worked on expanding the story a little more rather than peppering the world with background lore, it would have worked better than a backdoor forSuper. As much as I want to complain though, I have my gratitude for bringing Hybis into the light because I doubt there is anyone who does not like this character. What an absolute angel.
Dragon Ball DAIMA is creating more problems than it can solve
I have mixed opinions aboutDragon Ball DAIMA’slatest episode. On one hand, the focus on Hybis was warmly welcomed. On another, it was downright insulting to see Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo suffering against goons that are using tazer guns. Throughout the entire anime, all three of them have gotten rid of these mobs in an almost humorous fashion, using it mostly like a gag as to how weak those enemies are.
Suddenly there seems to be a need for Panzy’s father and his crew to come in and save the day against electric laser tanks. At this point, the entire series relies on Goku a weak character struggling to work his way through demons that would otherwise be destroyed with ease.

It is almost as if the anime itself forgets that Goku’s powers aren’t nerfed but just his physical body. His strength and power levels have all been intact. So it makes absolutely sense as to why they are struggling so much.
“There’s no Manga source material for this one”: Without Akira Toriyama, Fans Can Expect a Lot of Surprises in Dragon Ball DAIMA
The entire episode felt like a waste, consuming so much time to deal with the most irrelevant and weak villains. If that didn’t make matters any worse, Gomah’s childish behavior is getting to me. He isn’t an antagonist. He is a child who wants to do what he wants, whining like a baby if things don’t go his way. I wouldn’t be surprised if, by the end of it, Degesu is either with Arinsu or Goku.
At this point,DAIMAis nothing but a story with no aim, no stakes, and a barely passable story. It is a shame considering how well the series had started out to be. It felt hopeful and almost fun. Now, it feels like things are only set to decline and there will be no fruit of the seed borne.

Even the plot twists don’t work
The anime is currently struggling with many different issues. The pacing, the fights, the cause behind those fights, and why Goku has suddenly forgotten he is one of the strongest characters in all of anime. Vegeta got his Super Saiyan 3 just a few episodes ago, Goku has already used it on many occasions, so what was holding them back in this fight? At least he transformed last minute, else it would have been worse.
The only good part about the entire episode, in my opinion, had been Hybis. He always manages to use his goofiness as a means to make the episodes better. However, I was not surprised even once with his connection to the Third Eye. The predictability that consumes the anime makes it impossible for the element of surprise to work. As plot twists that were previously set up, there lacks any sense of satisfaction when they finally come to fruition. At least Hybis got a cool new hat.

‘Dragon Ball DAIMA’ Is Showing Fans Now More Than Ever Why a Vegeta and Bulma Slice-Of-Life Spin-off Won’t Be the Worst Idea
By the looks of it, Degesu would likely use the Third Eye for himself after constantly being used as an errand boy for Gomah rather than his right-hand man. It is clear that the series is trying to do so many things and that is why it is not working. There is a sense of balance that needs to be formed, one that is seriously lacking in this case.
At this point, every new episode comes with a new set of unresolvable issues. As if fighting hamsters and harmless dogs wasn’t enough, now it’ll just be another battle that adds nothing to the overall series or simply makes Goku feel like a weak shadow of himself. It is likeDAIMAdoesn’t want to take itself or its potential seriously.
