After announcing the official title ofThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsat the SDCC, Pedro Pascal’s film has provided an update on the team’s costume at D23. Fans earlier got a glimpse of what appeared to be a ’60s-inspired costume in the official concept art. However, the new costume appears to be quite different from the concept art design.

While it closely resembled one of the comic-accurate suits of Marvel’s First Family, fans were not all in favor of the suit. Only Joseph Quinn wore the costume at D23, while other cast members appeared in their casual clothing. Earlier, it was confirmed that the upcoming Marvel film was going to be a period piece.

Joseph Quinn, who stars as Johnny Storm, attended a D23 event for the cast in his F4 costume (via DiscussingFilm). The original concept art released during the cast announcement had the four actors in blue suits that had some white elements to it. The new look has more white elements in it than expected.
The suit has a white sleeve that goes all the way up to the collar. Quinn also wore white gloves, but the palms of the gloves were black. While his shoes were not visible in the photo, fans expected that he wore the white boots from the concept art. Both these costumes were adapted from John Byrne’s comics run onFantastic Four(via Marvel).

Fans were not exactly jumping up and down in excitement when they saw the suit. Some fans loved how Marvel kept the comic accuracy when designing the suit. Others shared that they were not vibing with the suit, with one fan commenting that Disney/Marvel ruined the suits as usual. However, many had mixed feelings and were worried about how it would look in the film. Some of the reactions read:
That suit is so comic book I love it

YO that suit is cool af
I’m not really vibing with the suit.
They started ruining the suits wow classic modern disney 🥵
The costumes in the concept image looked better imo, this has just a little too much white. But I LOVE the simple Ness of it. There’s not a million lines all over it, it just is what it is.

The Fantastic Fourreleased the first-look footage for fans who attended SDCC, where the name and the timeline of the series were officially confirmed. Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Quinn, andEbon Moss-Bachrachplay the titular four characters in this MCU reboot.
