Elon Musk is definitely on cloud nine after Donald Trump won the 2024 Presidential Election against Democratic Party nominee Kamala Harris. The Tesla CEO has strongly supported Trump, unlike others who have kept their distance from the entire political conversation. Musk is no newbie when it comes to strongly voicing his opinions, and he did the same when he was asked about the entire work-from-home setting at the moment.

He verbally attacked people who promoted this new way of working, making him a perfect rival of Kevin O’Leary who supports the remote work setup.
Why Remote Work Is Morally Wrong for Elon Musk?
Whether it be his verbal spat with Mark Cuban on X or his strong support for Donald Trump,Elon Muskhas never shied away from stating his opinion out in the open. He did so again when during an interview he made his stance clear on the entire work-from-home scenario in the business world.
In an interview viaCNN, the Tesla CEO added that such work settings create an imbalance between office workers as well as people whose job requires them to be physically present like factory and service workers. He also added:

There are some exceptions, but I kinda think the whole notion of work-from-home is a bit like the fake Marie Antoinette quote, ‘Let them eat cake. You’re going to make people who make your food that gets delivered [that] can’t work from home; the people that come fix your house, they cant work from home, but you’re able to? Does that seem morally right? That’s messed up.
Not only this butMuskalso added some strong words against managers who work from home but expect their team to report to the office. In his own work settings (Tesla and SpaceX) he requires his employees to be present physically in the office as it’s quite essential for the productivity of the company. He also added that he works every day and only takes about two to three days off annually.

But obviously, he doesn’t expect his employees to do the same, adding, “I work seven days a week, but I’m not expecting others to do that.” In the current scenario, almost every company out there has embraced the hybrid working model. But Musk remains steadfast in his preference for working in an office and bringing in the personal touch.

This is definitely something thatShark Tank’sKevin O’Leary doesn’t agree with and has his own theory as to why working from home is not a bad idea.
Kevin O’Leary Doesn’t Agree with Elon Musk When It Comes to the Entire Work-from-Home Scenario
Kevin O’Learyaka Mr. Wonderful is known for beingquite bluntand straightforward when it comes to judgingShark Tank.He is also not afraid to ask some really tough questions just so he can test the confidence of budding entrepreneurs. But in the midst of this, he also fully embraces the work-from-home setting as opposed to what Elon Musk has added.
When he was asked the same question on if he considers remote work“morally wrong”the venture capitalistsimply replied“No.”In fact, he sees remote work as an effective and beneficial strategy.

According to arecent study by McKinsey & Companyabout 87% of the American workforce would choose to work in a flexible remote setting. On the same, O’Leary added:
The economy’s changed, the ethics of work have changed. We went through an extraordinary period during the pandemic—the idea that you’d split up a headquarters and you’d let people leave a headquarters to work from home was not even contemplated. It was considered too risky. Now it’s a proven, effective method or project management.

While he supported the same, he also understood why Musk did not support the entire work-from-home setting. He added that due to the highly technical companies that are under Musk, collaboration between employees becomes a key element.
