Does Dune Part 2 Have an Official Release Date?

In 1984, David Lynch directed the first adaptation ofÂDune; however, it wasn’t well-received by the audience. So, ever since Legendary Entertainment acquired the rights forDunein 2016, everyone is waiting to see the story on the big screen once again. However, unlike the 1984 adaptation, Denis Villeneuve decided to complete the entire story in two parts.

Is Dune Part 2 Happening?

Of course, Denis Villeneuve confirmed that he plans to coverDune’sstory in two parts. However, Warner Bros still hasn’t confirmed the sequel when writing this post. The studio is still waiting to see how the first movie performs in US theatres. Is There a Release Date For Dune 2?

Initially, Denis Villeneuve wanted to film both movies back to back; however, the studio wanted to hold off until the movie’s theatrical release. Villeneuve wrapped filming the first part in 2019, and the studio originally planned to release the film in November 2020. However, the film got delayed because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. So, if the studio starts filming the sequel in 2022, and there aren’t any interruptions in the development, we’ll possibly getDune 2in 2023.
