Dragon Age: The VeilguardRevealed Some Intriguing Player Stats
InDragon Age: The Veilguard, players take on the role of Rook and fight alongside Varric and Harding to stop Solas, an ancient elven, from merging the Fade with the material world together. While they manage to disrupt the ritual, in the process, they unexpectedly unleash two powerful elven gods.
To stop them and prevent the Veil from breaking, players embark on an epic journey, learning more about Solas (his intentions) and how he became the mischievous trickster and murderer he is. Along the way, players make crucial choices, complete side quests, and form relationships with various companions.

When they reach the end of their journey, players must team up with Solas to defeat the two powerful gods. Recently, the developers released data about all the choices players made in their journey. According to the report, 72% of players chose to redeem him, leading the Dread Wolf to voluntarily bind himself to the Veil as a sacrificial act to hold it together and redeem himself.
But the difficult choices don’t end there. At the moment of his sacrifice, players have the opportunity to speak with the Inquisitor, asking them not to let Solas face the Veil alone. However, a recent report revealed that the majority (57%) chose to leave him to suffer alone.

Solas’s High Cost of Redemptions
While leaving him alone in the Veil may seem harsh, from a narrative perspective, it represents the culmination of his loneliness, a reflection of the consequences of his past actions. It seems that players understood this, too.

The decision will also serve as a reminder of the harsh reality of redemption because sometimes, even when someone is given a second chance, it doesn’t replace the emotional scars, and true forgiveness cannot erase the consequences of a lifetime of decisions.
As the players continue to enjoy the gameand try to find all the possible side quests and decisions they can make, they are left thinking about whether or not their decision was the most justifiable choice.

In the end, it has become clear that the cost of redemption is very high. Even though players thought they forgave Solas, most still chose to let him suffer alone as a way to atone for his sins.
