TheDelta Forcefranchisecame backafter a long hiatus, and it brought with it an extraction shooter mode. As the developers put it,the Operations extractionmodeis simple: shoot, loot, scoot.
The Operations mode inDelta Forcetries to balance out the extraction shooter genre, providing a mix ofEscape From Tarkovloot and planning dynamics but with smaller maps and moreforgiving gunplay.

Like a goodextraction shooter, Operations has a Sisyphean gameplay loop.
You kit up at your base, carefully plan your raid, and then go out there to retrieve as much loot as your little legs can carry.
Once you are back home, that loot goes towards upgrading your base and buying better gear…

…Which you then use to go out again, to get more loot, to buy more gear. You get the idea. It’s moderately insane behavior, but what makes it fun is that failing to extract means all that effort goes out of the window.
Operations gameplay is split into three parts: preparing for a raid, executing it, and sorting the aftermath, so gear up, and let’s dive in.

Preparing for an Operations Raid
Not all good plans lead to good outcomes, but bad plans universally lead to bad ones.
Having a clear idea of what your goals are and how to achieve them helps you bring the right tools for the job.

Beyond that,a clear plan lets you spend more time adapting it to the tactical situation at handrather than having to plan your entire raid on the fly.
Operations inDelta Forceplay out in four different maps: Zero Dam, Layali Grove, Space City, and Brakkesh.

Space City
Space City is a futuristic launch site that plays out mostly indoors, as the outdoor areas have a lot of chokepoints.
Brakkesh is your classic CQB map that will feel like home if you have graduated from theCall of DutySchool of Combat.
10 Insanely Difficult Achievements in FPS Games
Even John Wick would struggle with these…
Zero Dam is an intermediary map, with the dam overlooking the area. The map is divided into clusters of buildings separated by hills and a river. There is plenty of room for most gameplay styles here.
Layali Grove
Assault, Sniper
Layali Grove is the game’s biggest map, offering the most diverse tactical approaches. The map has numerous compounds overlooked by plentiful vantage points, and its sheer size lets you pick more creative routes around or through fights.
Gearing Up
The inventory system inDelta Forceis similar toEscape From TarkovorGray Zone Warfare. You have a tactical rig, a backpack, pockets, and a secure container.
During Operations, dying means losing everything you have equipped except for what is inside the container. Yes, this includes guns, vests, helmets, and backpacks.
It might be tempting to cut your losses by taking weaker gear to the fight, but most of the time, the more you risk, the better your odds of coming back alive.
Raid Checklist
Fit for the map
Pistol, SMG or Shotgun
Ammunition
At least four extra mags
1+ heal, 1+ debuff
Helmet & Vest
Best available
Whileassault riflesare fit for all of the maps, you won’t have a great time sniping in Space City and Brakkesh. Similarly, shotguns and SMGs will be miserable in Layali Grove unless you bunker down in one of the buildings.
You will typically burn through a lot more ammo on smaller maps as there are fewer ways to skirt around firefights, so keep that in mind when building your kit.
Expect to be shot at a lot, so have at least a pair of health recovery and debuff removal items with you.
While it is possible to bring a whole pharmacy with you into the raid, every full slot when you leave the base is one that you cannot fill with looton the field.
Get in,kill everyone, loot everything, leave. If it were that easy, you’d be doing it right now instead of reading this.
Once you spawn, your first order of business is tomove somewhere safe to avoid getting spawnbanged.
If you survive your first minute, it is time to move to the points of interest. Listen for gunfire sounds to identify whether your destination is contested.
Sometimes a high-tier area will be too hot, and you get a better return on investment by waiting for the fighting to die out or going somewhere else entirely.
Wherever you are, always keep a mental note of your nearest extract. There are always days when nothing goes your way.
Arma Reforger: How To Find Your Location On The Map
Finding your location on the map could be more difficult than fighting in Arma Reforger!
If you are not feeling it,there is no shame in skipping the looting and heading for an early extractinstead.
As tempting as it may be, avoid shooting at everything you see. Taking that shot does not always guarantee a kill, but it is almost certainly going to expose your position to every bad guy around you.
This is especially important if you stumble into a fight: if you may, let the parties duke it out, then finish whoever is left.
If you drop someone, remember the golden rule: there is always one more. Do not rush to loot a body unless you want an express ticket to the menu.
Once you reach your objective and are clear of threats, be speedy. Any lull is not bound to last, so your best bet is toload up your bag and book it to the extract rather than loitering around.
Cleaning Up The Mess
Assuming you made it back in one piece, this is the time to enjoy your spoils.
Your loot found in raid can be sold directly to traders, or put up at the auction house. When deciding who to sell it to, click “List” under the auction house option. The next screen will give you an up-to-date price that lets you make a more informed decision.
Before you sell anything,go over your Black Site and quest list to see what is worth keeping. Nothing hurts more than realizing you just sold an important item for some spare change.
If you died, well, that’s no longer your problem. Gear up again, and off you go. If you run out of money, the game charitably gives you a gear ticket so you don’t run out naked.
If this is a lot to digest, focus on the basics: loot, shoot, scoot.Good luck out there, operator.
