The drama between Taylor Sheridan and Kevin Costner has been dominating all conversations about their hit series,Yellowstone. Many have been wondering about the status of their friendship and if they will continue to work together. At the same time, both of them have been moving on in their professional careers. Where Sheridan is working on continuing the story he started inYellowstone,Costner has created a series of his own.

The John Dutton actor recently released his own project centered in the Western genre,Horizon: An American Saga; several films following a cohesive story, starring and directed by him. While many would expect fans of the show to take sides, it would seem that the feud between the two stars ends between them.
Recently, many fans talked about Costner’s passion project, and they seemed to have nothing but good things to say about it. This is quite surprising considering the first film’s performance at the box office.

Horizon: An American Saga—A Slow Beginning
Kevin Costnerworked very hard when he was makingHorizon: An American Saga.Putting in his heart and soul, one could say that a piece of himself resides within the fabric of the film series. The first part of the story was released in late June, and it is safe to say that the reception was underwhelming. Knowing just how much went into its making, it is deeply unfortunate to know that the first of its series was not able to perform well at the box office.
Kevin Costner in Horizon: An American Saga I Warner Bros.Having been ripped apart by critics online, it was reported byVarietythat the movie was only able to make $11 million from 3,334 theaters during its opening weekend, on a budget of $100 million. There are several other factors that make the news all the more tragic.

The series was greenlit for two more movies by Warner Bros. when they were making the first, as they believed theYellowstonewave would easily bring it a lot of attention. The second film is complete and set to release in August. Seeing the numbers the first film has made now, it is difficult to imagine things will be any different for the second and the rest of the series.

YellowstoneFans To The Rescue
On theYellowstonesubreddit on Reddit, many fans began to talk about Kevin Costner’s latest venture, and interestingly enough, the conversation was nothing but positive. Since the films are also set in a Western setting, many would expect them to be similar to the Taylor Sheridan series. However, they quickly pointed out that the show is nothing like it, being more similar to the spin-off,1883.
Really really loved it. My wife and my parents enjoyed it too and we all can’t wait to see Chapter 2 in August. I wouldn’t say it’s Yellowstone vibes but definitely 1883 vibes. Cast is great, and the movie is amazingly beautiful. The cinematography is insane. I can see why Kevin Costner wanted the movies to be made drama with Yellowstone aside.mentioned userItsFreezer.

Despite this, they mentioned that the film was absolutely excellent. They loved the story and how it knew exactly what it was trying to do. The cast only added to Costner’s vision, and it was all perfectly wrapped in a bow by the breathtaking cinematography. The film has a cohesive theme and gives just enough to the audience to leave them wanting more.
“They should age up Josh Lucas”: Yellowstone Fans Have Devised the Perfect Ending for Taylor Sheridan’s Show to Avoid the Montana-Sized Kevin Costner Problem
I saw it yesterday and thought it was excellent. There are really only 4 storylines. The American settlers trying to build a settlement in the San Pedro River Valley in Arizona, the natives trying to stop them, Kevin Costner getting involved in a family issue between a women and her estranged family in Wyoming, and a wagon train making it’s way across the frontier.
I assume in Chapter 2, most of the storylines will intersect, but it’s not hard to keep them straight before that. It’s extremely well done, addedAZonmymind

The effect worked excellently, as many pointed out; they could not wait for other parts of the series. At the same time, their reviews of the movie made others who had not seen the film want to watch it even more. It is safe to say that this form of word-of-mouth could certainly save Costner’s beloved series.
