Marvel Studios doubling down on their IPs is nothing new since these films and shows have led to the MCU’s meteoric success to such a scale. Thus, when the company acquired Marvel Entertainment, they also came into possession of their properties as well, which included all the heroes and villains that Netflix had set up for their Defenders Universe.
Naturally, the franchise saw the potential to bring these characters to their side and integrate them into the main narrative, the first and only among them being Charlie Cox’s Daredevil at the moment. But now, as the entire universe is going towardSecret Wars, we might finally see the return of Kilgrave and Bullseye from the Defenders universe make their MCU debut in the future, socially after they became canon.
Kilgrave And Bullseye From Marvel’s Defenders Universe Have Now Joined The MCU As Canon
For more than a decade, the MCU has been expanding itself with several films, creating an entire universe with interconnected narratives from them, and most recently, with their Disney+ shows. But back in the day, the silver screen was the department of Marvel Entertainment, which brought us the cult-classic Defenders Universe with their shows on Netflix.
But as Marvel Studios took over the small-screen division, they also got access to the aforementioned universe that the company had created for Netflix. The only issue was that nobody knew whether the characters from those projects were part of the main MCU timeline or not. That was until we sawCharlie Coxas Matt Murdock first inSpider-Man: No Way Home, then inShe-Hulk Attorney At Law,and later, we saw Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin inHawkeye.
This gave us a hint that the MCU was cooking in the background, but we still had no idea whether it was just Daredevil or all of the Defenders. But at long last, we can rest easy as we now have confirmation that the properties from Marvel Entertainment are canon to the MCU. This was confirmed by the cinematic juggernaut themselves after they added the Defenders series on Disney+ as a category. And as we all know, the shows categorized in this manner are canon.
Thus, along with Cox as Daredevil, there may be a big chance that all the heroes from that particular universe may make an appearance in the franchise soon. But more than them, it seems like fans are more interested in the villains from that series, more specifically, Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye and David Tennant’s Kilgrave.

Considered to be some of the best villains created by any Marvel project, it would just be a waste to leave them unused for long, which is why their return is being expected by fans in the future.
When Can We See The Return of Kilgrave and Bullseye in the MCU?
As stated earlier, the aforementioned villains are some of the most well-executed antagonists that Marvel has ever created, and the shows from Netflix becoming canon to the MCU means they too are a part of the franchise.
As for when we can see them in the main timeline, it’s a popular belief that the upcomingSecret Warswill be the secret weapon to reset the entire franchise and start fresh, which has gotten many to believe we may see these two stars either reprise their roles as the villains or see new stars take on their roles either in or after the last film of Phase 6.
