Archangel Studios hasconfirmed with a new trailerthat the souls-inspired action RPG Bleak Faith: Forsaken will be released on March 10.The studio’s Kickstarter pagestates that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are also planned to be released at a later date.

At first glance, Bleak Faith may seem like aDark Soulsclone, but it would be more accurate to describe it as influenced by Shadow of the Colossus or Dragon’s Dogma, as it incorporates a number of gameplay mechanics such as stealth and climbing that can accommodate different play styles, along with diverse environmental challenges and customizable level designs based on these additional traversal options. Players can also climb on top of enemies and bosses while holding their swords, or stealthily eliminate them. In essence, Bleak Faith aims to let players employ battle tactics without restriction.

As for combat, players will have access to a variety of different weapons and equipment that can be customized to their liking. In addition, the open-world environment doesn’t rely solely on medieval elements, but also includes cyberpunk features and mechanical enemies, as seenin the teaser trailers. The Kickstarter page boasts more than 30 hours of gameplay, along with an extensive class system and a procedural AI system that ensures every playthrough is unique.

The game’s universe, Omnistructure, is designed to keep players interested in every single route. Much like the plague inDemon Souls, there are numerous afflictions that affect the world, and every nook and cranny is packed with exceptional and compelling content. As previously mentioned, the world features randomly generated areas to ensure that the environment remains immersive and different for every player.

However, key narrative segments will remain linear to ensure that players have a sense of purpose and direction. The procedural element mainly serves to increase the entertainment value and appeal of multiple playthroughs.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken barely passed its crowdfunding goal, so it may not support any of the stretch goals detailed on the Kickstarter page, such as companions, base upgrades, and PvP, but the developers may include them in a later update.
