After months of waiting for another Nintendo Direct that focused on more than just one game, we finally got it today. The presentation, contained many games that people were expecting likeYoshi’s Crafted World, Daemon X Machina, andFire Emblem: Three Houses.

That being said, we wanted to highlight some of the other full reveals and unexpected announcements from  today’s Nintendo Direct. Below, you can check out the 9 games we finally got a good glimpse at during today’s Nintendo Direct:

Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2

To kick off the Nitnendo Direct, Nintendo announcedSuper Mario Maker 2for Nintendo Switch. Instead of just being an enhanced port, it adds notable things like slopes as well as aSuper Mario 3D Worldtheme and Cat Suit power up to go along with it.Super Mario Maker 2will be releasing in June 2019.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition

During the Nintendo Direct, we finally got our first in depth look at the Nintendo Switch version ofDragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.Deemed with the ridiculously complicated title ofDragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition,this port is very faithful to the previously released PC and PS4.

That being said, it will actually let players explore the overworld in a retro style similar to the Nintendo 3DS version the never released in the West. There will also be new sidequests that focus on all of the different party members.Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Editionwill release sometime this Fall.

Disney TsumTsum Festival

Disney TsumTusm Festivalis a matching puzzle game based on the company’s famous and adorable stuffed toys. Developer Bandai Namco Entertainment America also confirmed that the game will have both local and online player.Disney TsumTsum Festivalis releasing in 2019.

BoxBoy + Box Girl

One of the Direct’s most low key but still suprising announcements wasBoxBoy + BoxGirl. TheBoxBoyplatforming series was birthed by Hal Laboratories on 3DS, and the series is now finding life on Nintendo Switch. This game is set to feature 270 stages, the highest level count the series has seen yet, as well as co-op.BoxBoy + BoxGirlis currently set to release for Nintendo Switch on April 26.

Rune Factory 4 SpecialandRune Factory 5

TheRune Factoryseries found a nice following on 3DS, a now the latest game is the series,Rune Factory 4,is getting spruced up for Switch.Rune Factory 4 Specialwill be releasing for Nintendo Switch “later this year.” After showingRune Factory 4 Special, Nintendo did confirm thatRune Factory 5in development, though they didn’t share much else at this time.

One of the Direct’s most surprising announcements wasOninaki, a new deep single-player RPG from the developer of I Am Setsuna. According to Square Enix,the game “tells the story of one Watcher on a journey to protect Life, after Death. Players will uncover the mysteries of life, death and what’s beyond as protagonist, Kagachi moving between the Living World and the realm of the dead known as the Beyond.“Oninakiwill be releasing across PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2019.

Astral Chain

During today’s Nintendo Direct, PlatinumGames announced their next big title:Astral Chain. In addition to featuring the thrilling action the developers are known for, the game also takes place in a fairly interesting world. Players are part of a Special Forces Police Unit and must work with a “humanoid special weapon” called Legion in order to save their city.Astral Chainis a Nintendo Switch exclusive and is launching on August 30.

The direct ended on a huge surprise: a Nintendo Switch remaster ofThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.This Game Boy classic is considered to be very underrated by many (myself included), and the game is finally seeing new life on Nintendo Switch with completely redone 3D graphics. ThisThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakeningremaster will be coming to Nintendo later in 2019.

Personally, I’m looking forward toThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Astral Chain, Tetris 99,andSuper Mario Maker 2.
