Pochita has been depicted as an introspective character, with a philosophical outlook on life & death. Pochita’s Personality
Loyal and Protective:Pochita is extremely loyal to Denji. He saved Denji’s life by offering him a contract and even gave up his freedom so that Denji could live. He continues to protect Denji throughout the series, acting as his heart and lending him his power when needed.
Caring and Kind:Despite being a Devil, Pochita often shows a kind and caring side. This is particularly evident in his interactions with Denji. He appears to care deeply for Denji’s well-being, often worrying about him and even showing sadness when Denji is hurt or in danger.
Quiet and Reserved:Pochita is generally quiet and doesn’t speak much. He tends to keep to himself and doesn’t interact much with others outside of Denji. This could be due to his nature as a Devil, or it could be a sign of his reserved personality.
Brave and Selfless:Pochita has shown great bravery and selflessness on multiple occasions. He is willing to put himself in danger or sacrifice his own well-being to protect Denji. This is evident when he offers to form a contract with Denji, knowing that he will lose his freedom as a result.
Mysterious:Being a Devil, Pochita has an aura of mystery around him. There is much about him that remains unknown, and his true nature and powers are only gradually revealed as the series progresses.
How Pochita Saves Denji
Pochita’s powersappear after his merger with the socially awkward demon hunterDenji. His powers are themed around chainsaws, with Denji using them to summon chainsaws from both of Denji’s arms that are sharper, stronger, and more effective than standard chainsaws. Denji’s head is also transformed into a chainsaw-styled head, with an extended jaw of large, sharp metal teeth, all the while enhancing Denji’s strength and speed to super-human proportions.This form is a hybrid between Denji’s human body and Pochita’s true, fully realized demon form.

Pochita’s True Form
In reality,Pochita’s actual demon form is as horrifying and disturbingas could be expected of a chainsaw-themed demon. Similar to the form Denji can take after merging with Pochita, Pochita’s demon form ishumanoid with four arms, chainsaws protruding from them, a modified chainsaw-like head with large teeth, and rows of spikes erupting across his entire body. One of the most powerful devils, Pochita, is all but unrivaled in this form, able to slaughter anyone and anything that might stand in opposition to him.

Other devils fear Pochita because he can truly kill off devils, denying them the ability to regenerateor reincarnate after Pochita destroys them. Should the contracting bond between Denji and Pochita become broken, this is the form that would emerge, granting their form even greater strength and power but suppressing Denji’s humanity and individuality underneath the power and bloodlust of this ultimate form.
It remains to be seen how this monstrous form will materialize in the Chainsaw Man anime, as season one has wrapped up without this true form making an appearance. Should the anime continue to follow the events of the manga series it is adapting,it is only a matter of time until this demonic entity is brought to life in animation, and those who stand in its way are cut to ribbons in short order.
Pochita’s Devil Form Powers
Devil Erasure: One ofspecial abilities of the Chainsaw Devilis the power to permanently eradicate other devils. Typically, in the world of CSM, when a devil dies, it is reincarnated in Hell and can eventually return to Earth. However, if a devil is killed by the Chainsaw Devil, they are completely erased from existence. This includes the erasure of the concept that the devil embodies - they cannot return through reincarnation, effectively making the Chainsaw Devil one of the most feared entities in the series.
Chainsaw Appendage: As the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita is capable of transforming parts of its body into chainsaws. This is most commonly seen when Pochita turns its head into a chainsaw, but it can also produce chainsaws from other parts of its body, such as its arms. This ability allows Pochita to deliver devastating attacks and cut through almost anything, making it a formidable opponent in battle.
Fear Empowerment: As with all devils in the Chainsaw Man universe, Pochita gains power from fear. The Chainsaw Devil represents a primal fear of chainsaws, and as such, this fear empowers Pochita, making it stronger.
Regeneration: Like other devils in the series, Pochita possesses the ability to regenerate. This ability allows it to heal from wounds that would be fatal to other beings, making it extremely resilient in battle.
