With the lives of all the major characters at stake after the unexpected attacks, Chainsaw Man episode 8 definitely was a stressful one for fans. People are now forced to wonder who will live to see future episodes and who won’t. Episode 9 will most probably answer your doubts, and hopefully, most characters will live through it.
Last Time on Chainsaw Man…
Denji was at Himeno’s place when the latter asked the former to move on from Makima while convincing him to be intimate with her. Himeno finds a lollipop in Denji’s clothes, and he remembers the night when Makima gave him an indirect kiss using the lollipop. Denji refuses to get intimate with Himeno, saying he would love to have the first experience with Makima.
Himeno and Denji have breakfast together, and she proposes a secret alliance where she would help him get along with Makima, and in return, he would have to help her get along with Aki. Denji agrees to the deal, and Himeno says they are not just co-workers anymore; instead, they are friends.
The scene then cuts to Makima, who’s travelling with one of her co-workers to attend a meeting. Soon, they are ambushed by several people on the train, and they both are shot in the head. Somewhere else, Arai and Kobeni are shot by an old woman, and Denji, Power, Aki, and Himeno are also attacked by a strange man who turns out to be the Katana Man. While Denji is shot in the head, Himeno sustains an injury in the chest.
Aki starts fighting the man and attacks him using the Fox Devil. He soon reveals himself as the Katana Man, and Fox Devil denies its further assistance as he’s a Hybrid, thus having bad taste. Aki uses the power of Curse Devil to defeat the Katana Man, but Katana Man is saved by his friend, Akane Sawatari.
Aki and Katana Man start fighting again, and this time, Aki takes a lot of damage, almost ending him. Himeno summons the Ghost Devil to save Aki and makes a pact to give all of her body in return for killing the enemies. The Ghost Devil is about to kill the Katana Man, but Akane summons the Snake Devil and kills the Ghost Devil. Aki notices Himeno is gone and only her clothes are left behind.
