This has been highlighted by thousands of players and developers Activision Blizzard addressed this by introducing their anti-cheat initiative for PC – RICOCHET. With this came promises of a multi-faceted approach to cheating, enhanced investigation processes to root out cheating and updates to strengthen account security. It all sounded like this was a step in the right direction.

Another blow for Call of Duty & Warzone

As can be seen onSocial Media site X, the user going by the handle @ZachDubs has highlighted how hackers have managed to easily bypass the initiative that developers had introduced to counteract situations such as this. Sharing the video which is originally from a YouTube channel, fans can see how simple it is for the hackers to beat the system.

It shows that during in-game, the hackers can turn off the investigation against them. The Ricochet software takes screenshots of your games and can highlight the offences, however, the hackers have been so advanced that they can turn off the cheat a millisecond before the screenshot is taken.

They are so ahead of the initiative and in the post, we can see there have been 44 screenshots cleared, just for one game. There was also a reference to at least a count of over 100 screenshots cleared in one game. Developers are fighting a losing battle here.

Looking at the comments following ZachDub’s post on X, many applaud the level of ingenuity from the hackers whilst others talk about moving back to console gaming. It may be that developers will have to go back to the drawing board quickly if they want to tackle how advanced the hackers are.

However, it’s clear that this is another blow to the popular franchise and developers will know all too well that the numbers of players are in a decline due to players losing patience with the game. WithHelldivers 2seemingly the new jewel in the crown for many, just how will this be addressed by Activision Blizzard?
