Throughout her journey, Yaga comes across several unique and deadly creatures in the forest, including some extremelypowerful bosses. The first boss Yaga crosses paths with isRebel, a mushroom that possesses the explosives Yaga needs to get rid of the so-called “dragon of the forest.”
The Fatal Jump-Attack
Rebel will start the fight by leaping at you with incredible force. There’s no blocking mechanism in Blacktail (at least at this point in the story), so the only way to protect yourself from this attack is throughdodging. You have touse your dash abilityto move out of Rebel’s way, but you have totime this right.
Use Dash the moment when Rebel has left the groundor is in midair— if you Dash a little early or a little late, you’ll lose most of your health from the attack. It’s an extremely powerful attack that will straightaway bring down your health to 30%, so you have to be extremely cautious when Rebel uses this attack.

Avoid The Indestructible Puppet
After his first attack, Rebel will unleash his puppet at you, whowields a deadly melee weapon. This puppet will constantly charge at you, but its movement is relatively slow, so you canjump or dash to move away from itand keep your focus on the Mushroom.
The tricky part is that thePuppet can’t be killed, and your arrows don’t have any effect on it. However, if it gets close to you, you canuse the Deflect Hocus ability to push the Puppet away.

Dodging The Rocks
During the fight, Rebel will pick up rocks from the ground to throw them at you. Getting hit by these rocks can bring down your health and also slow your movement, making it difficult for you to dodge any following attack. Fortunately, dodging these rocks is quite easy with your Dash ability. You can also dodge this by simply jumping out of the way.

Yellow Damage Zones
Rebel flexes the ability to blast multiple rocks at you by forcing them into the air. This will create two consecutive damage zones, which you’ll see as circles on the ground. You’ll take substantial damage if you get stuck in these damaging zones, so you have touse your dash ability quickly to move out of harm’s way.
Destroy The Small Poisonous Mushrooms
While switching his position, Rebel willunleash a couple of poisonous mushroomsthat will attempt to get close to you at a fast speed. When they get close enough, these mushrooms will release a green toxic gas that’ll eat away your health.
You can use yourarrowsto take out these mushrooms one by one; however, that will take a lot of time andwill leave you open to other attacks from Rebel and his Puppet. In this case,it’s best to use the Deflect Hocus abilityto get rid of all these toxic mushrooms at once.

Focus Fire On The Boss
While dodging away from Rebel’s attacks, you have tokeep using your arrowsto do some damage to the enemy. After a few attacks, Rebel will go underground to change its position. You can use that cooldown period tocharge your arrowsand then release them at Rebel once he’s above the ground. Predicting Rebel’s new spot isn’t that difficult either — justlisten to the underground rumbling to easily guess where Rebel will appear next.
As stated by Rebel himself,he does not begin the fight at full strength, and he’ll only appear with half his total health. It won’t take you too long to defeat him, as you may easily do some serious damage with your arrows after you learn his movement.
