We’re almost at the end of the year, and that means awards and accomplishments for the games and the people behind that saw release this 2024. In its 42nd year, The Golden Joystick Awards 2024 winners for all categories have been revealed, and the winners shouldn’t surprise anyone.
For those not familiar with The Golden Joystick Awards, it’s an awards ceremony with winners voted on originally by the British public. It has since been opened up to be a global event. Outside the Critic’s Choice Award and the Breakthrough Award, each category winner is voted on by the public.

10 Games With The Most GOTY Awards Ever
Games that win Game of the Year are always impressive, but these games have been awarded more than any others!
With the awards voted on by people (ie. the popular vote), it’s no surprise thatBlack Myth Wukongwon the most coveted prize, the Ultimate Game of the Year.

In terms of games that won the most awards, Arrowhead Game Studios’Helldivers 2and Square Enix’sFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthtied for first place, as each game won four awards. Those two titles were followed up byAstro Bot, Balatro, and Black Myth Wukong, with all three games snagging two awards each.
Possibly the most surprising – but definitely deserved award – is Team Asobi winning Studio of the Year, since Astro Bot isn’t your typical AAA fare that usually gets the most attention at these types of events. Of course, it did help that theplatformer managed to perform well commercially, which helped a lot in having more eyeballs on it.

We’re not done with awards for the year just yet. The biggest gaming awards show, The Game Awards, will take place on December 12, and we already havethe list of Game of the Year nomineesavailable.
