Battlefield 2042is sure to be one of the biggest releases of 2021, and quite possibly the biggest release in the franchise’s history. The developers behind the upcoming shooter, DICE, recently held a developer’s briefing where they discussed all thingsBattlefield.
The briefing took place on June 14 and gave fans some small bits of new information regardingBattlefield 2042, including the brand new Hazard Zone mode. Which has been made clear, isn’t a Battle Royale mode.
What Is Hazard Zone?
Hazard Zone will be a brand new mode, never before seen in aBattlefieldtitle. According to the developers, the mode will feature high-stakes gameplay which is “distinctly"Battlefield.
It was also noted that Hazard Zone is a squad-based game type and although it’s distinctlyBattlefield, is also very different from other modes such as All-Out Warfare. The officialBattlefield 20242website describes the upcoming mode as a “tense experience that combines edge-of-your-seat gameplay with the best of theBattlefieldsandbox”.
Although DICE didn’t divulge into any of the specifics of the mode, fans have begun speculating that it will be similar toEscape From Tarkov. For those that don’t know,Escape From Tarkovis similar to popular Battle Royales but much more detailed.
It’s not about being the last one alive, like most classic Battle Royale games,Tarkovis about raiding, looting, and surviving. The features in the game are far more detailed than the likes ofWarzoneorFortnite.
Players are able to compete in raids and collect loot to use to survive. There are so many attachments for a single weapon that you can actually take the whole gun apart to customize.
Now, fans don’t expect Hazard Zone to be the exact same asEscape From Tarkov, but it’s likely that it will use similar elements. Players may be required to complete raids and objectives with your squad to loot up and survive against other teams.
Unfortunately, this is simply speculation for now.Battlefield 2042is set to arrive in October, but DICE will likely release more details on Hazard Zone in the near future.
ConfirmedBattlefield 2042Modes
DICE and EA have revealed that there will be a total of three main modes inBattlefield 2042, likely alongside the standard multiplayer modes such as Team Deathmatch and others.
Alongside Hazard Zone,Battlefield 2042will also feature an “All-Out Warfare” mode as well as a currently unnamed mode.
All-Out Warfare is reportedly the “next-generation” of fan favorite modes Conquest and Breakthrough. The mode will feature some of the largestBattlefieldmaps ever and up to 128 players if you’re on next-gen or PC.
Players can also expect dynamic weather, destruction, and spectacular world events in the new mode. All-Out Warfare appears to be exactly that, look forward to plenty of chaos this October.
As for the currently unnamed mode, there’s not much we know about it, but what we do know is that it will be a “new way to playBattlefield”. What the means exactly is yet to be discovered, fans can tune in to EA Play Live on July 22 to find out more on the currently unnamed mode.
WillBattlefield 2042Have A Battle Royale?
Currently, there has been no confirmation thatBattlefield 2042will have a Battle Royale mode. That doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t feature one, but as of writing, it’s looking unlikely.
According tobravoINTEL on Twitter, DICE has reportedly stated thatBattlefield 2042has no Battle Royale mode within the launch window. But the developers did state that it is something they’ll have to look at down the line.
So, it looks like no Battle Royale mode forBattlefield 2042on launch, or possibly at all. Is this a mode you would have loved to have seen in the newestBattlefield? Let us know over on Twitter or Facebook.
