Well, the artist revealed that he was inspired by a veteran actor from the 1960s, basing his style on a look from a 1962 film. Frank Miller and veteran director Martin Scorsese were both impressed by Gregory Peck.

Gregory Peck starred in the 1962 film titledCape Fear.The story follows an imprisoned rpist who thought about avenging his past and the lawyer who sent him there. After tracking the lawyer, the rpist starts threatening the lawyer’s family. The film, which starred Gregory Peck in the role of the lawyer, received rave reviews from around the world.
Veteran directorMartin Scorsesewas also impressed by the film which made him create a remake in 1991. The remake, having the same name, starred Robert De Niro, Juliette Lewis, and, Nick Colte. The movie received 2 Oscar nominations and is one of the few rare films that Martin Scorsese remade from another director with a dash of his own vision. While shooting the 1991 film, veteran actor Robert De Niro decided to adopt a heavy accent while portraying the role of Max Cady in the film. As per film trivia on IMDB, the thick accent used by De Niro was very terrifying for Martin Scorsese.
