In the latter half of 2023, Barry Keoghan was seen with fellow upcoming star Jacob Elordi in their filmSaltburn, which has, since its release, been making the rounds in critic circles as one of the best films of the year. The success of the film is being credited to filmmaker Emerald Fennell, and the two lead stars, of course.

In fact, the performances of the leading actors have enamored the audience as well as the critics, who have all hailed Keoghan for arguably his best performance yet. But contrary to assumptions, the star was never the first pick for the lead as Timothée Chalamet was the first choice for the role of Oliver Quick, but Elordi suggested that Keoghan be given a chance as well.

In the same video, when asked what drew Keoghan to their latest film, he said that the script, the filmmaker, and his co-star were the reason why he became part of the film.
