Dungeons & Dragons Live-Action Netflix Show Set In Baldur’s Gate 3’s World
A new rumor claims Netflix is making a Dungeons & Dragons TV show called The Forgotten Realms.
One of thesenew Cantripsis called Booming Blade. It’s used alongside a weapon attack to add an extra 1d8 Thunder damage to any enemy that tries to move away from the caster.

It seems that Booming Blade was causing issues due to how it worked alongside another class feature, as an update for the Patch 8 Stress Test notes has beenreleased, stating Booming Blade no longer works multiple times in a single turn.
Booming Blade No Longer Combos With Extra Attack
Booming Blade is intended as a companion to thenew Bladesinger subclassfor the Wizard, though it also works with pretty much every magic/melee build.
As such, it ran into the problem of being used with one of the warrior class features: Extra Attack, which allows the character to hit twice as part of the same action. Bladesingers gain access to this at least 6, with one of the attacks being switchable with a Cantrip.

A Baldur’s Gate 3 mod is in development that is adapting the most popular Dungeons & Dragons 5e campaign.
This meant that Booming Blade could be used multiple times in a single turn in Baldur’s Gate 3, which isn’t how it’s intended to function, except with the Fighter’s Action Surge ability.

Hopefully, these last-minute tweaks signify that Patch 8 will be arriving soon. Baldur’s Gate 3 is adding a ton offan-favorite subclasses, with the Bladesinger being a long-running popular choice forDungeons & Dragonsplayers. They used to be OP back in the old days, but they won’t need Cantrips to reach that status again.
