ABaldur’s Gate 3data miner has discovered a string of dialogue relating to an unexplored Karlach romance option, confirmed to be cut contentby Karlach’s voice actress Samantha Béárt.
For those who didn’t know (I didn’t), each origin character has a unique solo camp cutscene if the player long rests on the Ravaged Beach immediately after crash-landing and before recruiting any companions. For Karlach, this scene normally involves her fantasising about having a threesome with a goliath and a halfling.

However, data miner Sparrows discovered an alternate version of the scene where Karlach fantasises about Dammon, the tiefling blacksmith who helps the player during Karlach’s personal quest.

It is currently impossible to trigger this variant in-game because you need to leave the beach to meet Dammon, locking you out of accessing the unique origin-specific cutscene. Béart explains that this cutscene and the tension you sense between the two characters is why she and Dammon’s voice actor Frazer Blaxland consider the pair’s relationship to be canon.
Sparrows manually triggered the cutscene in-game, allowing us to listen to the cut dialogue. It’s best to witness the fantasy for yourself but let’s just say it begins warmly and ends explosively.

With the gradualdiscovery of more and more cut contentin the few months since Baldur’s Gate 3’s release, people have expressed a hope that some of this content will be added back in future patches or potentially in a future definitive edition.
As for downloadable content, Larian has stated that creating additional content for the gamemay prove challengingbecause of the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset, but they haven’t ruled anything out yet.

Our ownperfect review of Baldur’s Gate 3called it a “masterfully crafted RPG that improves on every aspect of Larian’s past work, and is a worthy successor to the series.” If you’re currently playing through Baldur’s Gate 3, then why not check out ourcomprehensive game guide?
