Atelier Yumia’sexploration heavily relies on purifying manabound regions. Most regions and sub-regions have a specific point of interest with which you must interact to purify the mana.

8 JRPGs Better Than They Have Any Right To Be

Never judge a book by its cover or a JRPG by its excessively anime protagonist.

As you progress through the very early phases of the story, you’ll need to purify the Dux Lighthouse, which serves as the stepping stone for this mechanic.

8 JRPGs Better Than They Have Any Right To Be

There are plenty of manabound regions, and they all need purification. The Arbor Botanical Garden, being one of them, features a puzzle that you must solve before you can purify it.

Without further ado, let’s see how we can purify the Arbor Botanical Garden in Atelier Yumia to keep you on the right path of progression.

Where Is Arbor Botanical Garden?

The point of interest is linked to themain story quest.Unlike a few manabound regions, which don’t have a feature in the story, the Arbor Botanical Garden is a key place, so you’ll end up here eventually by default.

Despite being mandatory to the story, located in theLigneus Region near the Rhizoma Thicket, the Arbor Botanical Garden is somewhat hard to reach.Massive treesobscure the path, and sometimes, you may feel lost as you attempt to track it down.

zipline map

The cliffs are hard to reach, and withnoclimbing mechanic in the game, you have torely on the double jump abilityto reach tricky places.

But I’ve found a simpler way. Go to thezipline to the right of the Rhizoma Thicket on the map, repair it, and use itto reach the Arbor Botanical Garden for even easier access to the location.

Since you only have to repair the one near the Margo Woodlands, it’ll be easier to get to than the key point of interest.

Removing The Barrier

You need tosolve a mini-puzzle before activating the Arbor Botanical Garden.

The puzzle is quite simple; you only need topick up two cubes and put them on their respective pressure plates. The first one is in the building to the left, where you’ll alsofind a locked chest.

locked chest

Go to the room to the right and find a red cube.

Shoot the three lights with your gun to unlock the chest. All three lights are in the vicinity.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land Review

GUST has done an ambitious rework of their cult classic.

But you can’t place it as it is. The pressure plate is locked behind a gate.To open the gate, you need to shoot at the switch in the room. After that, grab the cube and carry it to the pressure plate. That’s sorted.

For the last cube, go back to the pedestal, and you’ll find a cube to the left. This one’s quite simple—there’sno puzzle or complicated mechanic.

As soon as youplace these two cubes, the barrier will disappear. If you’re confused about where to find the cubes, notice the red wave-like line emerging from the pedestal. It’ll guide you to the cubes.

A fun fact is that you don’t need to wait for the quest line to progress here to activate the pedestal. I purified the Arbor Botanical Garden before the main quest led me to this location, so feel free to do this whenever you please.
