The post goes on to say, “We’re discovering new ways each day to push the technology to the next level; combined with the work needed to support a fully cross-platform-moddable game ecosystem on consoles and PC, it’s clear that we’ll need a bit more time.”

It was also confirmed that The Island will be the only map available at the launch of Ark: Survival Ascended, as the Scorched Earth map will now be released in December. “With what we’ve learned about remastering The Island from the ground-up, it wouldn’t be feasible to complete Scorched Earth to a standard we’re happy with,” Studio Wildcard said. Other maps, such as Ragnarok and Abberation will be released in Q1 of 2024, followed by the remaining maps at a yet-to-be-confirmed date.

Due to the launch of Ark: Survival Ascended now featuring less content than originally intended, Studio Wildcard is adjusting the early access price point to $44.99 with a launch discount bringing the game down to $39.99.
